No they don't, and it is the same concern.

Good luck finding a store which refunds you your money 30days after buying, do let us know if you find one...

And another minus point about Interdiscount is that they are approx 10% more expensive than anywhere else for your electricals... except the odd item. Digitec or Fust anytime..

I think you lot don't understand Susan's annoyance.

Some of us don't go out shopping for things because we like shopping and like buying pretty little things to make us happy ( not mentioning names on this forum...)

We buy things because we need them and usually because the old one broke.

To buy something new to find it's defective and then to have to wait whilst it goes away for repair (and invariably comes back with a screw or two missing and another new fault) is really quite inconvenient.

We do, and we know such is annoying.

However...

She had false expectations and never cared to read up on the T&C, and now she decides to go to another store in future only to be disappointed and annoyed again if something fails because they also do not offer her such service, even tho she for some reason thinks it is in their T&C since she links to them.

The store does exactly what they should do according to what Susan agreed to when buying the ironer, but now she is angry because she does not get more than she is entitled to, and that is not how the world works.

In the end this all boils down to failure to read from the customer.

Neither Fust or Interdiscount would have done what you wished for, and both are very clear about that in their rules. So how you came to think that Fust would have given you your money back if asked for is a mystery to me.

I bought a carpet cleaner from siroop. They sourced it from microspot.ch.

It did not work. Siroop sent me a label and a return form, to send back to microspot. Microspot sent it back two weeks later unopened, and after calling them, they told me to go back to siroop. I spent a morning trying to access both the English and German customer service lines. Also sent an email. Finally, I sent a twitter message to siroop - that I was having a problem with a warranty issue.

Heard back in about half an hour, was asked for information via direct message. Email in another half hour, i responded saying that it was inappropriate for them to not repair, or send me any information, etc. Got an email back that they would refund my money. Confirmation of that (I paid via PayPal) same day.

I thanked siroop on twitter for their efficient handling, got my money back and
I now have a bissell spot pro that doesn‘t work, destined for recycling I guess.

It is frustrating. I am finding that sometimes twitter is a valuable tool for expressing dissatisfaction with the purchase process.

I did not expect to get my money back.....rather more repair mumbo jumbo. But, sometimes companies are responsive to customer inconvenience.

I don‘t know if twitter will help the op....but it is something to consider.

Than you are just in luck with a salesman having a happy day, which can happen in every store. They do not have to do such and you agreed to that.

Also their rules say that the product should be without defects when brought back within 30 days. And getting a store credit is something completely different from getting your money back.

It’s funny you should say that because that is exactly what Interdiscount did for my husband. The thing be bought stopped working after a few days and as they didn’t have another one in stock they just gave him his money back.

If a thing cannot be repaired or replaced you are entitled to your money back, that is just how the law works. If in other conditions you get your money back you just have run into a friendly store worker giving service above what is demanded and agreed upon.

Media Markt are no better, their 'repair center' 'fixed' our leaking floor washer by cracking open the tank and then applying copious amounts of superglue, oh and stealing the nice brand new battery and giving us some knackerd old one they found kicking around the workshop
