| | Ikea online order rubbish
Arrrggghhh! Rant of the day. Ordered a couple of items from Ikea on the 13th June, given a delivery date of/by the 20th June. Nothing arrived, unable to track parcel, contact Ikea and someone saying it's somehow got lost in the system and she'll sort it out.
21st June no delivery, call again to be told its still sitting there and will go out when it goes out.
22nd June, still nothing and another call to customer service. Oh sorry there's been another disconnect and it's still sitting there........ I'll cancel the original order for you and re order it and you'll get i next week.
Make numerous phone calls, fill out forms get a notification it will now be delivered on the 27th June. Guess what still no parcel. Email again to be told it was forgotten and will go to DPD tomorrow to be delivered on the 29th......Arrrrggghhh. I have a love-hate relationship with Ikea and always say I'll never buy anything else from them but always end up going back because I can't stand the weird looking Germanic generic crap you get in Lipo and Co. |

OP, sorry to hear about your trouble.
I had a similar situation (but ended up getting one item twice). I never had issues with IKEA US delivery... It seems to be a problem with IKEA Switzerland (or rather the company they've contracted with for delivery). No tracking, if delivery happens, it's at a time other than the time stated, etc. I'm not sure why it needs to be so weird and complicated.

My limited experience with Ikea online ordering is in line with the title of this thread. In fact, rubbish is probably too kind.
DPD sent me a mail saying one of the packages was delivered but in fact it is not even in their system. I called DPD and they told me the mail is wrong. I should call Ikea.
Have tried to contact Ikea in writing, still no response, the live chat doesn't work, and when I call I am on hold forever.
Totally pathetic.

When complained that I'd ordered to avoid making a pointless journey and that a half open unit with a missing leg wasn't much use to me, they just blamed "the system".
To be clear, I'm an Ikea fan for their balance of cost vs quality, but their inventory system sucks.
