Since we’ve moved places we are getting much less junk mail and just regular letters. We tried few days without Keine Werbung and immediately were overwhelmed by vast content.
Private advertisers stick inside the pigeon hole from time to time their business cards where to sell cars or charity envelopes.
No true solution as we are part of the community and like it or not they will make you being well informed |

There are better ways to deal with, but you must be ready to collect the mail from the headquarters by yourself then |

Switzerland's not unusual in freebie local newspapers, either. I think there are many places where the local authorities are duty bound to ensure the local area is up to date.
Yes you can find it all on the internet but the newspaper is delivered to your mailbox.
Plus it works perfectly to soak up bin-goo at the bottom of the bag when you're finished with it... | This user would like to thank Sandgrounder for this useful post: | |

It is a mandatory step to have the final approval from the Gemeinde, at least in BL, as we had to do just that.

Wrong.
I recently had the Post hold my mail for several weeks while I travelled.
In my mind, most of these ads and leaflets were getting placed in my box by independent delivery folks, doing their rounds. But when I returned, there was not one single item in my mailbox. The stack of mail I collected from the post office included all the crap along with it. The Post was doing the lot! All my spam, coming past the "Bitte keine Werbung" plate on the mailbox, was due to the Post.
This is pretty upsetting stuff. I don't want to sound dramatic but does anyone still think this country has a future?
(It was the first time I'd got round to doing this, and it was motivated by having missed signed-for letters in the past).

I have had my post withheld plenty of times and never had spam in there when I got it back. A pizza etc leaflet has no postage stamp on it so I highly doubt that it would be delivered by the post for free, it is more likely delivered by guys paid to walk around neighbourhoods putting them in postboxes.

I've caught randomers leafleting all the mailboxes with leaflets, business cards and other shite so they are certainly actively marketing their own stuff. Perhaps they can also outsource their spamming to the post office in your area.
Our area even has little scrotes occasionally delivering lit fireworks into mailboxes so YMMV...

I get the Zugerpresse weekly. It comes with bunch of flyers and other stuff I don't like. Lot of paper. I prefer to read news online, so I just filled out the "Zustellstop" on their page: http://www.zugerpresse.ch/content/zustellung/
Let's see if that works |
