Cover your cough

I live in Zürich and commute with the tram every day, annoys me a bit at least two-three times a day people not covering their cough.

And dudes banging their backpacks on people's faces...

New to the forum by the way
So I guess I'll start with a complain!

Re: Cover your cough

Isn't it horribly difficult to live in a country where you don't really have many reasons to complain? OP, you win the complaints prize for this week. I'm looking forward to reading your future impressions!

It's an old trick.

If you cough then nobody can hear the fart.

I cover my lower face with chunky scarf not that it actually helps

Or ring the ding thing on the tram!

Don't worry about it. Most of them aren't suffering from a cold virus which you could catch - it's just a smoker's cough.

Bit of a risky assumption given the piss-awful flu virus which ripped through Zurich the last couple of months.

Half the people in my office have been barking like walruses for the last 3 weeks and none of them smoke.

eeeee I agree, anyways covering your cough is an act of consideration, even when you're not sure if you're sick or not... Sometimes I can hear the "slime" in their throats when ppl cough

Actually you can work it to your advantage. For all those people standing uncomfortably close to you, summoning up a rather robust cough followed by some intensive nose blowing into a hanky can encourage people to back off a bit.

I'm trying to teach myself to release a Defcon 1 trouser-cough on demand for those occasions in the tram when there's some sweaty bloke leaning an armpit against me or breathing a stale mixture of garlic and coffee over me.

Indeed . Farting on the tram/train is my favorite thing. Especially when i'm surrounded by backpack-morons with no spacial awareness.

Or walking down the train I see somebody taking up the whole places, I'll sit there and fart all the way to my destination.

It's a beautiful thing

not looking forward to summer tram rides... might sounds mean but sometimes I change seat and make sure the coughing person sees it

Its OK when the coughing person sits in front of you. But its much worse when they sit behind you and come all over your neck

Umm, I think that that's a different problem.

Anyway, simple, just don't use public transport.

Re: Cover your cough

Coughing in your hand is just a polite way of smearing the germs all over everything that you touch, coughing in your arm/elbow is actually caring as to where your germs all go.
