Yes, I believe that there are quite a few, but religion doesn't (fortunately) play a role in who gets promoted. It's due to other fu?d-up reasons.

And if you're talking about the big banks, have you ever thought about the effect that external (cheap) Indian labour e.g. outsourcing via UBS has on the existing indigenous population, that are trying desperately to hold on to their livelihood, having built it up over a life-time?
Yes, of course but have you ever considered that an export nation like Switzerland does profit most economically of all european countries?

Maybe, and what has religion to do with that? See your earlier post

And who cares - he's done a shit job, just like the UBS CEO (doubt that he's Muslim, being from Ticino, but who cares)

Have you ever seen a muslim in director position at CS or UBS in Zurich?
Is that your measure of diversity?

Not the only measure, but it does indicate the grade of diversity, doesn't it?

Since when is religion relevant for competence??? And how would you know if someone is muslim, christian, jewish, agnostic or whatever?
Its not in my eyes but discrimination of muslims is obvious. Why do we have Germans in leading positions and not more muslims who grew up in Germany?

No, it doesn´t. Why does having a muslim CEO suddenly give diversity? And why does it have to be a muslim person?

Oh, he is a muslim, now I want to work for that company because they have diversity?

Replace muslim with christian, buddhist, agnosticist, homeopathic believer.....

like 50% of big bank CEOs being from Africa? Is that not diverse enough for you?

Let me guess.

You think more muslims who grew up in Germany (like yourself) should become CEOs of Swiss banks. You wrote that in your cover letter, and you didn't get the job.

So now you're coming here to vent some anger.

What article? The fact that a lot of people have lived here for decades and their experiences don´t count?

The UN is definitely not an organization I´d trust much here. There are a lot of countries where that is a lot worse IMO
The fact that it is worse in many countries doesn't justify the situation in CH. And that you don't recognise the UN as an organization does say a lot about you. Well you could easily show me an article praising the culture of diversity in Switzerland.

Come off your high horse. You are not complaining about diversity.

What companies with Germans in leading positions? Maybe because they were deemed to be knowledgeable and the others not.

By the way, talking about discrimination, think Sri Lanka. Do non muslims have the same rights and advantages in muslim countries?

Read what I wrote, not what you interpret. I think that is the issue with you.

And not getting your dream job here happens to a lot of people because of the competition. And strangely enough for you, a lot of (foreign) people like it here, do not feel discriminated and are happy.

I am not talking about muslim countries. Am talking about CH. Don't make comparisons. Swiss people like to do that. They always compare and justify.
You really think that knowledge is the only measure?

You assume a lot that is not correct. Strangely a lot of people are being discriminated.

And why may we not compare? Can you say that people are treated better in muslim countries than people are treated here? Why may people not compare?

So yes, I am talking about those countries and you do not anwer.

PS: you do realize that a lot of people here are foreigners, don´t you?`

Ah now I get it, you are the only one allowed to do comparisons and in doing so you don’t let the facts interfere wit your opinions. No wonder your having a wee problem integrating....

Sigh.

We gotta win the hockey world cup, I think, for folks to learn how to spell us.

OP - there is a thread like this showing up every few months, so this time it was you, it is not a surprising phenomenon here. I think what you are looking for is divergent thinking. It has nothing to do with culture, race..religion nor affirmative action. It is probably a question of willing to take a risk, using one's imagination and consciously looking for surprises.

What do you think?

Surprise me.
