Peking Garden Altstetten

I got a take away at Peking Garden and got to find a rock in the food. I bit into it even. How lovely. Just wanted to warn others - do not go to this place. It is criminal almost. Can I sue them? I sent an email announcing that I will get the money back tomorrow and maybe they have to pay for my teeth. They will probably not understand a single word. The item I found looked like part of the kitchen counter had dropped off and fallen into the food. So yeah avoid at all costs!

Criminal?

Contact them:

To sue is not as common here as in other countries like the US, you hail from there?

These things unfortunately happen but as there seems to be no damage, there is not really a basis to sue them.

Of course they might sue you as you are claiming they serve rotten stuff...

Same, albeit on the one at Langstrasse when I worked in that area. Never had any problems.

Re: Peking Garden Altstetten

OP: did you actually tell the serving staff about the stone in the food and give them a chance to rectify the matter there and then? That might have saved you an email and a thread on EF.

It is about take away food. The OP probably first noticed at home while eating.

This is what should be done in circumstances like this, let them know there is a problem so they can do something about it (most likely a free meal) and let them learn so it won't happen again. There's nothing criminal about it, mistakes and accidents do happen even in the best of kitchens.

I've eaten in their place in Hardturmstrasse many times. Food is decent and pretty cheap for Zürich and the staff are always friendly and most speak English (many better than German).

OP, you can't sue them, you could report them to the authorities and show them the piece of "rock". But after the event who can say that you didn't make it up? Only if they have more similar reports would they take any action now.

Wow, I guess you really must be bored if you really are looking for attention like this...

if you didn't tell them at the time then you really have no right to complain and talk about suing anyone. It's just ridiculous and childish.

Not at all... I answer the occasional EF post as light relief from whatever grinding or complex task I need a 5 mins of light relief from.

Understand that, and me as well.

Sometimes you (as in 'one') use(s) your boredom however, in-between complex tasks, to vent.

If you look a little closer however, you can see where some might actually benefit from our experiences here in CH (not limited to Asian take-away).

Sorry, but that (well-intention, I'm sure) piece of fluff has nothing to do with the silliness of the OP's post with regards to all the criminal/suing nonsense.
