Don't buy Maxmara online in Switzerland

Switzerland does not offer such a high customer protection as in the EU, and they have leverage on this, in my case.
I bought a coat on sales last winter, and I am still fighting now for a full refund. After ignoring my emails to Maxmara customer service (8 sent over three months), I threatened them of doing a charge back on my credit card (which you can only do during the first six months after purchase), and they refunded in less than a week the amount deducted of the taxes or transportation amount (can't remember exactly what). Now I am fighting for getting this amount also refunded, as in the purchase confirmation email they mention full refund if you are not happy with the purchase. They answered to my email two weeks ago that they would pay me back, but I am still waiting. The dispute is not being handled by my bank but it is a long process, First time I have such an unpleasant experience buying online in Switzerland.

Re: Don't buy Maxmara online in Switzerland

What was the reason for the return? Usually sales items tend to be much harder to return.

And when did you return it? Often it is a time frame of 2 weeks to get a refund.

The size was too small, even though I had tried the same one in a physical store.

Sales or not sales, any product purchased online should be refundable, it is mandatory in the EU as well as CH.

Maxmara answered to my numerous emails during four months that there were trying to localise the item in their storage (presumably they never received it back) very politely, but always same useless answer.

I am very disappointed. I loved that brand.

I returned it ok time, that was not the reason, otherwise they could have very easily closed the case.

Re: Don't buy Maxmara online in Switzerland

Just to give an update.
As I paid with credit card for this online purchase, I sent a claim to my bank to do a chargeback and they have won the dispute, so Maxmara has returned the full amount!
The purchase was done end of December 2018, and we are mid-september 2019. that's how long the dispute took, between me and Maxmara first with thousands of emails unanswered, and then between my bank and Maxmara.
Chargeback is not very well know in Europe, but it provides protection to retail clients when purchasing online. Only works for credit cards, if I am not wrong. Google it!
