The dirty tricks of Ikea.

They sell duvets in size 150 by 200. Its a size which forces you to buy the covers only from ikea because you wont find any duvet covers anywhere else in this size.

Re: The dirty tricks of Ikea.

Wouldn’t it be a ‘dirty trick’ if they didn’t state the dimensions? If you know the size and you don’t want to commit to only buying Ikea linen then maybe don’t buy it in the first place?

It’s hardly ‘dirty tricks’ if the information is written on the product.

Alot of people don't realize that when they buy from Ikea. You really think its just a coincidence that they make it in this size? Or are the Swedes smaller?

I had something similar with my Audi recently. I discovered that BMW parts from a totally different model don't fit☹️

Completely off the track comment. What's a car got to do with a bed cover?

We are talking about standards and Ikea purposely plays this DIRTY trick to force you to buy from them.

Bedding sizes vary from shop to shop and region to region (Swiss sizes are different to UK and US sizes, which are also different to each other, which seem to be also different to Ikea). The first thing that anyone shopping for linens does is check the dimensions.

Yes. Swiss size is 160 by 210. So why does Ikea not sell that size as standard? Obvious

Re: The dirty tricks of Ikea.

Are there folks who buy exactly the dimension needed? If the material/pattern pleases and you have a maleable down comforter and not exactly the same size availabe, who cares?

You seem a bit bugged today.

They sell different sizes in different countries, however 150x200 is a reasonably common size in CH.

Not surprisingly it's for a single bed

Just like Apple ties you into buying their stuff as much as possible, the Ikea thing is old news they've been doing it for 20 odd years

So, a 150x200 duvet will fit just fine in a 160x210 duvet cover!

Exactly, that’s what I used when we had ikea duvets for our single beds. I don’t think I ever bought an IKEA duvet cover.

Re: The dirty tricks of Ikea.

We should be grateful that they make the dimensions very clear and don’t confuse us further with terms like king, queen, 3/4, double and single, because that turns into a lottery when trying to match up beds, with duvets, covers and sheets.
