Bank doesn't give me my money

So normally I don't spend much so am not withdrawing a lot from the bank. But today I tried to transfer my weekly paycheck of 120k and it didn't go through. I log on and see that it didn't transfer but no explanation of why and no message from the bank.

I had to call up to find out that there is a 100k per month withdrawal limit and I have to pay a percentage fee to release my own money! What annoys me is they would be happy to leave it not transferred without saying anything.

my weekly pay check of 120k !

Shouldn´t be an issue with that paycheck?

Yes, most banks have a daily or monthly limit.

Re: Bank doesn't give me my money

Well with a weekly pay cheque of 120k the obvious solution would be to just buy the bank and change the rules.

Don't be silly, you can't buy a bank with just the EF minimum wage...

Re: Bank doesn't give me my money

At 23.59 transfer 100,000 then log back on at 00.01 and transfer the rest. Simples.

My bank in the UK wouldn‘t let me transfer more than £100k a day. It took me months to get all my money out...

Re: Bank doesn't give me my money

And there I was, close to tears when I received yesterday my car insurance bill for 1800 CHF, the car tax bill for 909 CHF, the TCS breakdown insurance for 109 CHF and the bloody MOT second test (35 CHF, discounted).
Thank god I bought Xmas presents for my kids last month, because it's going to be chicken and not turkey this month!

Yes, Mrs McTAVGE used to do all the family budget and bills, so I am discovering many things for the first time this year.

If you had a decent weekly income, the limit would go up.

Actually yes, my bank limits withdrawal too - for quite a while now - it's a three-month-limit though and it's mentioned at the account in the ebanking. Except on the accounts that pay no interest (of which one is the salary-account, hmmmm).

It's an "old" Volvo XC90 (2008) with 120.000 km I had bought second hand 4 years ago. I just can't afford to buy another car right now, and the engine is still very good, no mechanical problems. When we were on two salaries, it did not matter too much but now I feel completely strangled.

Hand in the number plates for a couple of months and recover them when you have the money available to pay the insurance.
In your case, the bus seems to be more fun anyway.

You need to be in contact with the red cross, they'll send care packages, they always go out of their way to help the down trodden.
You all are definitely suffering from a first world problem.

Get rid of your fully comp insurance, it really isn't worth it for an 11 year old car with a value of less than Chf 10k

Cancel your existing insurance now for the next possible date, if this is not possible, sell the car to a mate, the insurance becomes defunct and you get the premium reimbursed, pro-rata, buy the car back again from your mate use new insurance, my guess if you have clean record and full no claims, you'll be seriously under Chf 1k for insurance.

Try Vaudoise insurance or check on Comparis.ch to see what you can save

Sounds to me like you may have raised a red flag for any Swiss bank. 120k per week is big stuff.

Is there anyone on this forum earning that much, or has an income which necessitates 120k to enter their account each month?

Am assuming that his was a typo OP
