Mostly because Michelin stars are for restaurants and not hotels… and the maximum is three.

(so you can only stay at a hotel that has a star for its restaurant, which gives an indication of the food, not the room or hotel facilities).
sigh

the joke seems to have been lost

From scratch? Raw ingredients? Easy if you're veggie as many Indians are I can knock one up in about 15mins using only a microwave if it's just for me, but need the hob if it's for OH too. Sorry.
Not a good one surely. you couldn't get all the whole spices to release their flavour the same way for a start.

I don't even know if you can get all the raw īngredients in your average tourist resort, at least not without doing a lot of research beforehand.

So I guess they must be reheating stuff they've brought from home.

The spices are one thing, but if you're having a veggie one are you really cooking potato or maybe green beans, cauliflower in the micro? Doing a tomato base for the sauce in there, etc etc.

It might be physically possible, but I would bet it would be rank!

I've stayed in a couple for work. One particular hotel restaurant had 2 Michelin stars but our group dinner in the restaurant was, shall we say, less than successful. What might be the peak of haute cuisine in one country, may be viewed as 'what the hell is that?' by nationals of another country.

I was fine sticking to the vegetable dishes, but some of the meat eaters were more than a little perturbed and very conscious to not offend our hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing some of my colleagues struggling to enjoy their food as it came the day after they'd seen me struggling with a dish described as 'boiled tree fungus' which had the appearance, texture and chewability of bubble wrap in a clear broth.

.....from a 2 star Michelin restaurant,

I think you may have got something mixed up here, 2 stars agood, very good with food that is acceptable to Michelin (French) inspectors.

This. I've no doubt I could make a veggie something.... but it wouldn't be a curry and I wouldn't want to eat it!

While we're at it...

Because of the smell of curry being cooked by Indian guests in their hotel rooms, many hoteliers would rather not have Indian tourist groups at their accommodation.

I always insist, when staying in a Swiss hotel, that they should remove fondue from their menu...can't stand the smell going up to my bedroom!

Apparantly, believe it or not, their is very little lactose in fondue as it's broken down in the production process of the cheese

Here is just 1 link, but plenty on Google

Microwave in room is one thing, but a full on kitchen / kitchenette with hobs etc? You could reheat a curry in the microwave and it might whiff a bit for an hour or two, but you certainly couldn't cook one in it.
I have a yearly meeting to attend in Bernese Oberland. They are sweet enough to give me my favourite room every year.
It has a full kitchen-corner, the only thing missing is the dishwasher. AND it even has a full kit for Fondue. LOL!

I never used it, it's not the reason it's my favourite room.
