Many Dutch tourists pack bread and spreads from home, making sure they donít spend all their money on dubious foreign foods that might not taste good on ontbijtkoek at all! A typical Dutch suitcase will also include toilet paper and Dutch candy, like liquorice.

I thought the Scots were tight fisted, but then I met the Dutch.

Heres the easy way to recognize the tourists from Holland ( now officially called Netherlands for obvious reasons )

They get everywhere!
What do you mean, typhoon warning? Most Dutch people are used to walking, driving and cycling through the rain with three shopping bags on the handle bars. They wonít be fazed by rain too easily, and head out when others prefer to stay inside.
Dutch manners
On the one hand, locals from various countries get annoyed by some Dutch tourists being loud, blunt and messy. Queueing in particular seems to be a trick they refuse to get the hang of.
Most tourists from the Netherlands stick with their Dutch-speaking fellow travellers.
In general, thereís a good chance a Dutch person on holiday will ignore you and avoid eye contact at first.

We also use caravans so that we can take more food from home
You are wrong about sticking together though. Most of us avoid fellow Dutchmen like the plague. After all, you don't want to be seen with such a greedy bunch

Next time you try to be funny just place the link the the original instead of creating a badly readable copy/paste while leaving out half of it, easily showing that all you attempt to do is insult or piss-off people just like you always do. Beats me why you never got a final ban.

Perhaps we need a new Forum, "Oxymorons"

Re: Chinese tourist invasion

I don't find the OP being racist as she was talking about the amount of tourists coming from a specific country. The topic is one that should be addressed as it does concern many locals.

Does tourism enhance the local economy? I've heard Chinese and Indian groups don't buy much although, to be fair, I don't buy a lot when I go travelling either. They fill the hotels, take pictures, buy a bit of food and then off they go to their next destination.

I've seen signs telling tourists to go home in St. Sebastian. Barcelona has made it public that they've had enough of mass tourism. Dealing with hoardes of tourists has become a problem.

In my area, there has been talk about limiting the amount of people taking the Rigibahn up to the Rigi as it seems many trains are full. The Chinese tourist companies have excellent deals with the Rigi Bahn, which bothers many locals.

I have no answers but I'm all for a hearty discussion.

Hmmm - well this is interesting, all group tours stopped from China due to the virus, still doesn’t stop over tourism:
