Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Well I once bought a bed from Galaxus. On delivery I saw the packet was broken open and the bed damaged. The person who delivered it almost assumed I would keep it and arrange its return. I helped him to bring it back to his delivery wagon

As someone who has purchased stuff from them for many years now, I have consistently seen good customer service. When I have raised an issue, they have fixed it. Did the OP get in touch and ask for support?
Cannot believe the amount of attention this thread has received. Perhaps that's my mistake with the thread title.

I am a happy customer and continue to be. The complaint was specific to having a clunky adapter which some people are fine with apparently.

For me, it's a non starter. Esp. when they said it was a CH plug in the description.

And as I mentioned earlier in this thread, yes I did get in touch and got very good support. They accepted my objection and allowed me to return it. Got my cash back right away too.

Still haven't bought a new kettle tho...any suggestions?

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Also disappointed with Galaxus / Digitec.

Recently ordered and paid for something I needed within the delivery date they specified. They said they had it, said it was coming, waited three weeks for it to come, then got a handwritten (non-standard) email saying they didn't have one and I won't be receiving it.

If they were honest in the first place, I could have bought it somewhere else and been waiting for a place that could supply it.

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

I got a UniFi AP with POE last week from Digitec.
That came with a German plug and no adaptor.

I just swapped the plug but I suppose I should have complained.

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

This week for the first time I got a small issue with Digitec... I received someone else's order.

I took pictures of the content and of the barcoded address label, and I contacted the support. Within 3 days I got a free label to ship back the original package, my items delivered and a small voucher

These things happen and they were quick to handle it. I was lucky that it was not an item I needed within 24h (and that Covid disruption of deliveries is over).

Returns shipments are not for free anymore, even when everything send in its original box, you can only return it through your account and pay 7 sfr per invoice.

Or take it to a Digitec shop. Which I've done with a DOA, and got a replacement immediately.

Works for galaxus orders as well. Had to return a chair that was faulty and they said drop it into the nearest store (digitec Basel) and then they sent out the replacement direct.

They never were. The original sender had to pay for them. Which is why we made it a sport to return all this addressed adverts to sender. Worked for a while until the post decided to just throw it away instead of returning it.

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Personally, I think it's a little unfair to generalise about uno experience and a specific problem.

I have used Digitec/Galaxus about 80+ times here (80+ orders) and I have been perfectly happy.

From ordering....eg

Parker pens
Kids soft toys
Samsung mobile phones
Logitech keyboards, mouses
Face masks
Network cables
Philips hue lamps
Tommy Hilfiger boxers

The list goes on.

I order on day 1, I collect from their local store on day 2.

I have been extremely happy.....no issues/no faults. ....I have had one problem when ordering products, but it was directly related to the manufacture and nothing to with Digitec/Galaxus.

Pick any kettle, then buy a Swiss plug from Bauhaus and swap it

Just a quick word of warning to look carefully at any product reviews when buying from Galaxus / Digitec.

I ordered an item but it came supplied with an EU plug. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a kettle. Can't even plug it in!

Ordering from abroad, I could expect something like that but from a ch website I find it unforgivable.

A cursory search for "Galaxus falsches Stecker" brings up a lot of results for a lot of products.
I always order from them great service next day delivery.

Why donít you try turning the plug 180 degrees.

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Those 3 things are not working very well together, you can use it, but you are loosing 2 out of 3 sockets. Most of my appliances have this, doesn't matter if they were bought from brick and mortar or online Swiss shops and with scarce outlets in my apartment, it is always painful to use them. I found Swiss outlets cute, but life would be so much easier with a more widely accepted standard.

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

Write them and request new "Stecker". Sometimes it just happens. I wish digitec would add the option to choose the plug type

Re: Galaxus / Digitec

I actually went a different route, seeing the nonsense of the Swiss vs EU plugs, I bought a few multi-socket EU extension cords which I plug through an adapter to the Swiss walls.

Good idea.
I put the monstrous converter on each one and then plugged them into a mulit-socket Swiss extension cord.
That's my coffee-machine, coffee grinder and milk-foamer sorted. I needed extension anyway and I can turn the switch off on it, which I like.

The next round of German products, I'll do it your way.

The reason Galaxus & Co. deliver the German version is they can buy them cheaper on the bigger, German market (there is a Galaxus Germany for about 4 years now) and therefore sell them cheaper to us. Most times though, I had a plug converter added for free.

And the weirdest thing: I ordered a kitchen gadget from amazon.de, had it delivered to a German address and it had ..... a Swiss plug!! I can only guess, my credit card details gave me away, still I was most impressed by the service.

Not only that, but some products have EU and Swiss versions. I recently replaced my kaercher steam cleaner. The price for the Swiss version was like chf100 more than the EU version. I got the EU version.
