Whats on your doctor's invoice

Hello fellow members
This is more of a rant post, so I am sorry to start with.

How many of us actually, look through the doctor's invoice ? I had one from my daughter's pediatrician, where she charged me 33 CHF extra for picking up basic medicines like Algifor, etc. Basically charged me more than the cost of the medicines.

When I called to ask her about it, she almost yelled at me saying you pay only 3.3 CHF and the insurance pays the rest. So don't bother me, etc. !
I know that, but shouldn't we be responsible for making sure the invoice is correct. We pay the insurance company and indirectly are bearing the cost. This is a vicious game if we don't control the invoices, who will ? The insurance cost bubble just gets bigger.

Dont you all think so ?
Did I do something wrong here ?

Thanks
Nice sunny indoor day to you all

If you think something is wrong with your doctor's bill, it's much easier to let the insurance know about it. They are so much more effective at complaining to doctors.

Re: Whats on your doctor's invoice

What's the actual description and tarmed number assigned to it? I can see a small charge for gathering the medicines for you and updating inventory and patient file. I can even see a small charge if you exchanged emails or phone calls. But if it's as you describe 33 CHF sounds a bit much.

Agree with curley about contacting insurance but TBH they probably don't give a fig about 33 Francs, such is how things are in CH.

Re: Whats on your doctor's invoice

What’s on your doctors’ invoices?

Lies, bleeding lies.

10 minute consultation billed as a total of 30 minutes,
15 minute consultation in absence of patient, but he reads the reports during your 10 minutes in his presence.

Apparently he is the best Oncologist in the region, do I dare piss him off?

There is difference between the invoice being correct and what you'd like it to be. Dispensing medicines is not free - someone has to manager the stocks, make orders, pick stuff for you etc...
