You'd think a canton that recognizes Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Corpus Christi, the Swiss National Holiday, All Saint's Day, the Immaculate Conception, Christmas and New Years Day (not to mention any Gemeinde holidays), would also recognize Labor Day too.
Why? It's not a universal holiday globally, and in some countries even where it does exist it's in September, not May.

Yes, May Day is traditionally a holiday across Europe, for differing reasons, but the association with Labour day (note spelling, given that the US holiday is not on May 1st) or "International Workers' Day" is relatively recent.

While there might have been some traditional spring celebrations on that date... the reason it’s a holiday in most of Europe is singlehandedly due to the workers movement. That reached its peak between the two world wars and had a couple of strongholds- obviously especially in industrialized cities like Vienna, Madrid, Stockholm or.... Zurich. We don’t think of it as industrial today but it sure used to be. The socialist party had an absolute majority in the city in the early 30s. The rural cantons without much industry obviously never had that history... and rather celebrate religious traditions instead.

So nobody is going to set some stuff in Kreis 4 on fire or throws rocks at the cops? Some traditions should be adhered to, Corona or not.
yes I think they painted a bank and more action in Zürich. Big police presence. Give the pigs an inch ( lockdown ) and they will take a mile! Zürich. Still a police State
