What I worry about is conspiracy theorists. They are a real danger. I would support government agents in black suits taking them away to the desert to play with cactus 🌵.

I know someone like this and they were ranting about COVID and how it's actually a non-issue yesterday... it was sad to hear.

Maybe they're medically exempt?
Yes, there's so many people medically exempt from wearing a mask while simultaneously taking the bus to work during rush hour.

Well I've had enough of the mask Nazis snitching and staring at me on public transport. I just stare back or when someone is rude to me I am rude back. Why everyone on this thread is accepting this bullshit is beyond me, a so called virus that the govt uses a PCR test that cannot even detect the virus - don't believe me? look up who invented the test and stated it cannot be used to test for viruses. Positive results can be turned on and off by adjusting the PCR amplification multiplier.
Just shows how easy it is to propagandise the sheeple who will comply out of fear and cowardice. Remember when it was for just a few weeks to flatten the curve? Now looking at forced vaccinations (no vax no pay as an Australian bureaucrat suggested yesterday) , removal of any family members by police to Covid centers. Never happen I hear you say? Its the ing law now in Melbourne and God knows what next. No problem enforcing this tyranny, plenty here to do the stazi dirty work.
Your profile says you're in Cork and you're fussing about regulations in Melbourne. What are you actually doing here besides spreading rubbish?

I move away from them but I make my displeasure known if I'm being honest.
If I do not want to ignore then this is generaly the best course of action. It works wonders for me with those asses who drop cigis on the ground. I may also back it up with one word describing my contempt. But no more.

Remember this country is all about doing yout thing and not stepping on others toes. But certainly this example deserves mild action. Just keep control and don't get angry.

you miss the point. I'll explain.

the post you quote is a cynical take that believes they're not medically-exempt but rather claiming to be. And that they should just wear a mask for the greater good and show they can be socially responsible.

Point 1. That means wearing a mask properly and not storing it on a contaminated elbow before wearing it again
Point 2. Wearing a mask is not the end of the world; nobody really likes it but if we can make it last 2 years not 4 or 5 years, it helps.

I think Mask wearing in the shops is heading to Zurich very very soon.
My son works in town in a rather well known department store, and they have been instructed they have to wear a mask in work all day.

As long as the free ICU capacity stays high there won't be a lockdown. I hope so at least.

I don’t think we can afford to go into lockdown again. We’re just going to have to adapt our lives for the time being by wearing masks. Personally, someone’s going to make a crapload of money by marketing a comfortable mask that offers transparency and adequate protection.

If the rate continues to increase, particularly amongst the young, we will not be able to afford not to.

It's beyond stupid to introduce another lock down because rate among the younger generation is increasing.

Let the young generation live as they wish, they are not bothered about the virus and there is no need to. They can continue on with their lives, why they they should be held without education and normal lives as if we are in WWIII?

It's the geezers that are vulnerable, well they need to be protected and isolated. Not the rest of the population.

For sure there will be no more general lock downs, but probably local ones with certain restrictions of movements based on age. It's only logical.

The younger generation is more prone to spreading the virus widely and infecting the rest of the population that is more at risk...they are not an island. I cannot understand why that is so hard for people to comprehend.

They are still receiving an education and the only limit that has been put on their life is that only 100 vs 300-500 of them can rub their sweaty drunk bodies up against each other in a club right now. I don't pity them as I wasn't able to do that very much at all in my 20's because I was working too hard and couldn't afford it. We should be more worried about the future we are providing today's youth vs whether or not that can party hard on the weekends.

And also not just the geezers... I would say anyone over 35 should be concerned about the lasting effects of this virus. I'm 39 and battle asthma and an autoimmune condition, there are countless others in my same shoes. So please stop with the "geezer" nonsense.

The first lockdown was justified, a second lockdown now, even with increasing infections rates, would not be justified imho. Especially since there is more data about mortality and hospitalization rates.

Masks, home office etc. the government should do everything to keep the numbers low, but a total lockdown would do far more damage to the public than if there is no lockdown.

The whole point is to have the younger generation spreading the virus so it can die by itself. The virus is spreading between younger generation and not causing much problems.

So sorry for you to project your unfulfilled desires to those who want to experience and live life as one should.

It's far easier to protect those vulnerable than to incarcerate the whole population. Whoever is afraid of this flu can barricade himself at home, nothing wrong about that, but to expect everybody to do it it's quite selfish and disastrous to the general population.

And the good news is that no young people know any old people, or vulnerable people, so this is a great idea.
