Do the tickets auto renew?

Its no ones fault of course but I paid for using the train Monday to Friday - I have not been doing that for preety much the whole year... since march

So everyone has just swallowed the transport costs have they and written them off as a gift to SBB?
No, everyone did not swallow the transport costs and written them off as a gift to SBB. Thinking everyone is an idiot does not make you smarter

Some people benefited from the 1 month suspension, others cancelled their GA since last April. other people cancelled their ZVV abos and got a refund for the remaining validity time https://www.englishforum.ch/daily-li...d-your-ga.html

PS. yes, be careful of autorenewal of tickets. Not sure about ZVV but SBB surely does.

I've bought a new suit in February but couldn't wear it because of working from home during the lock down. Is there a way to get my money back?
Your analogy is incorrect.

The seller of the suit has a refund policy from 14 days to a month or longer depending on the country. You can return it for a refund (or credit) unworn within the refund period stated in the policy.

SBB and ZVV also have a policy, albeit different than the suit seller. They will refund the unused amount on your annual ticket.

The customer knows the policy, goes back and returns. Maybe the suit seller is going to go bankrupt because there are so many returns. Is it the buyer's problem? No, the seller has to abide by their policy.

SBB has been running the trains and has incurred costs throughout the pandemic. Is it the ticket buyer's problem? SBB has a policy and the buyer is entitled to a refund.

According to quite a few posters on this thread, the OP should swallow the costs, even after enough proof was presented that a refund is possible.

Well, at least 2 EFers claimed to get a refund back on March/April after cancelling their ZVV abos. Don't know if that was a temporary offer at the time, or permanent terms.

Even worse, due you to covid restrictions you've put on 10kg and it no longer fits.

It doesn't matter what your emotions on the subject are, ZVV and SBB do offer a refund for the time remaining until the expiry date.
That's incorrect.

The Abo includes some free months, probably ~3. Payback is only given for the remaining time less those free months. And you should expect to get a fixed fee deducted for their efforts.

Given that OP's starts sometime in February, that may indeed mean the net payback is zero.

I have this ticket from Feb 2020 and it covers all zones - Cost 2226 SFR

I have not used it since March as we were all home office and I went in to ask for it to be suspended or refunded

I was basically told that is not possible and it is worth nothing - Is that true??

I feel like I paid for a full season ticket but did not use it this year at all
If you've got your answer directly from the source, why are you asking here again?

The ZVV website states that you can obtain a refund for a yearly ticket and that the refund will be for the time between when you give back the ticket and when the ticket expires. This information is not available in english, but you can put it into an online translate program.
The same OP asked the same question on the Halbtax renewal thread a couple of weeks ago... and got exactly the same answers as they are getting here...
