coop delivery charges

So on Sunday it was written that delivery is free until 1st of November but than on Monday or Tuesday they removed this (I was waiting to order as I wanted it delivered next week). Then today when I wanted to place my order they cancelled the 3fr discount for repeat orders (I had placed my last order just last week).

I am annoyed by this attitude. I don't think I will be reordering soon, switching to Leshop!

Re: coop delivery charges

It is possible that free delivery was only available for orders on Sunday. This to encourage bookings during a slow day.

Such shops chop and change their special offers, whether in products or services, as they go along. It's their marketing approach, as they hope to reach a range of segments of the populations. Sometimes, as in this case, a particular offer appeals (to you, but perhaps isn't really attractive to someone else), but then it's gone again. Something else will come along (which will appeal to someone, though perhaps not as much to you), and so on.

Having said that, during the last Corona-wave, both leshop and coopathome worked under high stress to deal with the unusually high number of orders. Sometimes they closed the delivery slots altogether, for a week or more at a time. It could be that, right now, they don't need to offer any special delivery conditions, when they're overloaded (or anticipating so becoming) as it is.

I want to groan...but meh it is Friday.

Under these current conditions, please be grateful that we have an option for delivery and that there are essential workers out there working hard to make sure we have food in our homes. 3 CHF is nothing...perhaps give it as a tip to the delivery driver?

Re: coop delivery charges

Have you tried calling them? Last time I missed out on the free delivery when I completed my order somehow.

I called them up, chatted for a bit and got it reinstated retroactively. They were very friendly and patient.

Can't remember what language we spoke in, but I even think they supported english.

Contact phone details can be found on the home page.

Is it cheaper to order groceries via LeShop rather than Smood?

I have a Migros 1,3km away and the Smood delivery tax was 7CHF.

Actually this is the first time I am hearing for Smood, thanks!

Leshop has a yearly subscription for 99frs which I opted for. Generally their delivery charges are much more acceptable than Coop's.

There are different Migros and Coop items I prefer but I guess will have to forego some

Re: coop delivery charges

About 10 days ago I noticed coop@home.hardly had any slots left for delivery. I think with the Covid case increase a lot of people are (rightly) staying home and using this option.

So perhaps they took this promo away as needed to slow down the orders.

I know these things are annoying but it's crazy times and businesses are also under a lot of pressure and mess ups may happen.

Sounds like budget airline pricing. Next thing will be messages saying there are only two slots left at this price, and twenty people are looking at it.

But as I see it, Smood delivers cooked meals from restaurants and not shopping?

Did you order from the Migros restaurant?
Are you omtatsat's reincarnation?

I don't know how you see it, maybe they don't have Migros+Smood in every city, but as a Geneva resident, these are my options:

I'm not omtatsat, whoever that is. Ask the mods to check my IP or something.

Re: coop delivery charges

I believe Smood is essentially trialling delivery with Migros Geneva (which goes out all the way to Gland) and will be extending to Valais. Probably not yet available elsewhere yet. The main advantage with Smood is that they deliver at once and not in 3 weeks time like LeShop and Coopathome. Smood do real shopping in your local Migros with Migros employees and not from a central warehouse.

They should take this moment to improve their @home offering. You can't make changes to an existing order, limited availability of delivery time slots, their delivery rates are high, they often show up late, etc.

I agree. Coop often shows up early or late. Leshop is doing on time better.

Also coop offering is somewhat unstable. An item is available for a couple of weeks then gone, then back. I can understand that for fresh products but not for biscuits for example.

Anything that is a home-working requirement is under pressure. Biscuits definitely fall into this category for me.
