Well, second stolen package in less than a month!

What really stands out is that the delivery note said it was delivered at 12:32 today, and when I went to check around 12:35 then there was nothing there.

Which seems to point that the delivery guy is the person who stole it.

Swisspost doesn't have any settings to make them keep all packages in post office either, nor does it let to transfer small packages to pickpoints. Leaving you at mercy of the delivery guy.

Definitely putting a hidden camera in the lobby now.
Yes they do, you have to register and you can get it sent to a mypost24 or a pickpost location. What is your living arrangements, are you in a large block ?

I have noticed these notifications in many cases are significantly delayed. So in reality you package might have arrived at 10:00 or 11:00.

Re: Porch pirates in Switzerland?

Ok, I am here to give you the lowdown, cos I am one of the angry men in the yellow vans throwing parcels out the window. I can only speak for where I work, which is around Lenzburg and the like. I deposit at least 50-100 packets a day, every day of the week. So thats 300-500 a week, 12-20 thousand a year. Over the last 8 years, I have had exactly 3 packets gone missing. One stolen from a mailbox, another from outside an apartment door and one I gave to an old lady in an apartment building to give to the neighbour but it never arrived. Over 8 years. Now there are certain apartment blocks where I would never leave anything laying around. These are usually large blocks and dare I say it, generally full of auslanders who are not earning the 120k standard. When a packet goes missing, we hear about it and have to fill in a form and blah blah, it is a hassle. As far as thievery by post employees goes, there is very sophisticated software running all the time monitoring what goes missing, looking for patterns and so forth. It happens, but it is rare.
If you really have a problem with theft, you can register with post, get a mypost24 account and have everything sent there to pick up at your lesuire.Or you can also put in a nicht deponierung option, so if you are not at home, they have to take it to the post.
So my point, theft is rare but it does happen, especially in the big cities. If it is a problem either move or get your stuff sent elsewhere.
Have a nice day.

Not all packages have this option it seems

Some Digitec/Galaxus shipments have this message that "Delivery Options Blocked By Sender" and the only options you can configure (on the post.ch) are the ones related to the package delivery hours, nothing else.

Re: Porch pirates in Switzerland?

Interesting, maybe you have to get a general block on all of your packets. I have several customers that have a nicht deponierung, and it goes on every packet, no matter where it is from.
