| | Swiss Post p*ssing me off!
As the title says, Swiss Post are pissing me off. I don't expect anyone will have an answer to this, so it's more just a rant.
I have got my Swiss Post online account set up, to automatically authorise the postie to leave my parcels in the hallway if they don't fit in the letter box. I also always got email notifications of parcels well in advance of delivery, so if they needed an extra authorisation to be left, I could do it. It worked well.
Then the Gemeinde changed our address a few months ago (very annoying as informing every one is a real pain) and changed the road names in town... but the road names have not changed on google maps/sat nav etc.
Old address: House Name, Town.
New address: Street name & number, Town.
And now the email /deposit system does not work. I only get the notification as the parcel goes out for delivery with the local postie. I authorise it to be left, but I guess it is too late and they leave a delivery note. It has happened again this morning, and I've left a post-it note on my post box - we will see what happens. I also emailed Swiss Post CS last week, but they didn't even understand the problem.
I've checked all my settings online and everything is correct, new address there etc. The issue might be that; the local postie understands the new address, but when I order a parcel, that might be delivered by a company such as DHL, I do an address combo, so they can find me, and I can never be sure who will deliver a parcel.
Combo: New street name & number, House name, Town.
Maybe adding the house name is too much for the Post online system to deal with .... but if I don't do that, DHL etc will have no bloody clue where to deliver. Gaaaaaah!

Similar problem a few years back when we got street numbers. No notifications either. Mail, without the house number simply returned to sender. We only figured this out when our internet supplier cut service because we hadn’t paid their bill for three months

DHL deliver for Swiss Post? I've always had them entirely separate.

For example, the item being delivered today is from the UK and the website said it would be sent by DHL, so I put my combo address, but it got sent with Royal Mail/Swiss Post instead...... now I have the delivery problem.
Parcel always gets delivered, but online services no longer function correctly.

First Name & Last Name,
House Name,
Street & Number,
Town.

Don't know if asking the post to hold you mail at the office is too expensive. Hope the navigation maps are updated soon. Or, is it possible to suggest an update to them?

Well, the post-it note on the letter box this morning, saying "Oi, leave my parcel" worked, surprisingly!

I have just ordered something, from Switzerland, that I know will come by Swiss Post and won't fit in the post box. Only used the new address, no house name.... interested to see if this works as so far problems have been when house name was included in the address.

Is the house name something that could be confused as a company name?
Having two name lines before the street normally means person and company.
Why not change your nameplate to have both, then there's no excuse for not delivering since all parts match.

I'm writing;
My name
Street Name, Number
House name
Town
The problem is, the Swiss Post system is not registering my deliveries to my online account until the item goes out for local delivery.... at which point it seems too late to authorise it to be left in the post box and it ends up with an attempted delivery note being left instead. I have my settings set to "deposit consignment" permanently, but this no longer seems to be recognised. | Quote: | | | | | Ah you have it the wrong way around! I’d could be wrong too, try:

I'm thinking, because the house name is not in the official address in the system, it messes things up. I'll see if the item I ordered today without house name has any issues or not.

Island Monkey
The Monkeyhouse
Rollibockstrasse 1
3983 Bister
The Post normally processes addresses from bottom to top. Problem DHL/UPS/FEDEX do the same, an if the Rollibockstrasse 1 is not in there system it will not be delivered. And as you say: | Quote: | | | | | and I can never be sure who will deliver a parcel.! | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | but the road names have not changed on google maps/sat nav etc. | | | | | Did you report it to Google Maps?
Did you report it to Bing`/Garmin?
Did you report it to TomTom?
And specially did you fix the Open Street Map?
Edit: Sorry did not see your older post |

Swiss post can be utterly useless at times and they have removed their email address so I can't even have a good rant at them.
I was expecting a parcel this week and have just found out it has been returned to the sender. It is extremely frustrating because no reason was given for this and I am now waiting for the company to contact me regarding my parcel.
I really wish Swiss Post would get themselves sorted it's not the first time we have had issues with them.

Sometimes it just happens. Maybe try to contact the Post and try to explain the situation

Can you maybe set up a mail forwarding with the post office, from <incorrect address> to <correct address>?

I’ve ordered several things from inside Switzerland this week, used the address without house name, and the service worked perfectly. So putting the house name on (before or after street name/number) is what messes things up. Which is fine - if you know who the delivery company will be | This user would like to thank Island Monkey for this useful post: | |

For fear of stating the obvious, but I have in the past ordered stuff for which the seller managed to confuse the shipping address with the billing address. I had moved house and updated the shipping address but forgotten about the billing address.
As I guess in most cases the two addresses are identical, a software glitch of that nature might go undetected for a long time.
This might also explain some address by-line being omitted. Or other differences between the address on the label and that in the system.

First world problem complaint (which reminded me of this thread): I ordered something from Zalando on Wednesday last week. Under normal circumstances it would arrive on Friday. But it was "delayed" to Saturday. Of course it wasn't delivered on Saturday, and the app said it would be now delivered today before 12:00. At around 2:00PM I got a notification that it would be delivered on the 27th, which is in 5 days. That would make a delivery normally done in 48 hours a 10-day delivery.
It's only a new pair of sports shoes for my son, and underwear for me, so I couldn't care less if it takes super long, thus the "first-world problem" complaint, but what surprises me is that it will now take 5 more days. Perhaps the package got severely damaged? Who knows...

We are experiencing strange issues last few weeks. 2 senders of bills and letters informed us by email that the letter was returned to sender asking if we have still our name on the box.
We haven't received any mail for last 2 weeks except commercials. Wonder what can it be and how can that happened.

Obviously for good reason, like last time it was a birthday gift and we'd be away next day ..
Requested delivery Monday night and it was actually delivered Wednesday morning after going through a loop of "Misdirected" - "Sorted for delivery" - "Misdirected" etc etc..
We order regularly so no issues with address, seems the post can't deal with the late in the day delivery.
Must mail them this morning to request my 9chf back!
