If you're not happy with the way your child ist being treated and brought up - then do it yourself - but that's just my opinion.
My mother gave me a very tough upbringing and I'm sure she called me a lot worse than a Drama Queen. Seriously how does the OP expect her kid to survive school and then the first job if the kid doesn't learn to deal with this sort of talk But I guess Mum can then stalk the boss on Social Media.

. | | | | | Haha, of course. Don't mention it here though. | Quote: | | | | | My mother gave me a very tough upbringing and I'm sure she called me a lot worse than a Drama Queen. | | | | | Mothers may say a lot of things when they're upset but usually make up for it like 2000 times... | Quote: | | | | | Seriously how does the OP expect her kid to survive school and then the first job if the kid doesn't learn to deal with this sort of talk . | | | | | This talk shouldn't come from a teacher though. It happens, but it's not desirable and there're tons of pedagogical theories that don't support this view. So I guess I have a totally different opinion than most people here on this one. | Quote: | | | | | But I guess Mum can then stalk the boss on Social Media. | | | | | That was weird, I agree. It's just typical for our world though.
And making character asses....uhm assassination based on the poor girl's Insta motto is..... Judging by that it seemed like a young person who wants very much to be cool/edgy etc. Maybe she is good with the kids overall. OP shouldn't jump to conclusions before even trying to talk to this person.

Wait, was the sprog called a "drama queen" (English) or a "Dramaqueen" (German)?
Is OP mentioned that said kita is German speaking, I suspect the latter.

....has decided "drama queen" is not offensive, it's OK calling a child who is not yours like that, even desirable as a pedagogical method.
. | | | | | And yet I suspect people would take offense to their boss calling them a drama queen, baby, or <insert name>.

| | Re: Awful people working at Kita @ Urs Max: Not used in Swiss German AFAIA.
Maybe my Standard German is off, but I'd say (blöde) Schnepfe is a fairly strong insult implying she's easy. That doesn't compare to the German meaning of Drama Queen.
Detailed definition for aficionados of colloquial Standard German
Schnepfe annoying woman
Blöde Schnepfe very annoying woman
Common usage by both sexes. No implication of casual sexual availability. When used by men in regard to their wives, she is usually not in earshot. In cases where proximity of spouse was unwisely ignored, things can sometimes be remedied by addressing her as “Hase”. I know this is a bit late but it's important to get things right | This user would like to thank LtSoftDrink for this useful post: | | This user groans at LtSoftDrink for this post:

Prima Donna in Italian is definitively not a compliment...the google English translation is pretty accurate:
"a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance."
Btw, Italians use it for men as well. | Quote: | | | | | Italian usage may differ. Just a guess. | | | | | | The following 2 users would like to thank LizLiz for this useful post:
