In practice, the mask is off for every sip of the overpriced cocktails. So, masks doesn't matter.
That would make the timing of staring really critical. It's pretty complicated.

I clearly stated I didn't want an other one. But because I'm used to deal with what's there, I am now trying to change it into a Friday thread.
Gonna help?
Ah I see ... misunderstood, let me think.

How do the young people actually handle the problem of checking someone out that wears a mask? Would the dating market be better now for ugly people, when wearing masks?
Absolutely!
So true love from now on.

Re: Sitting outside

I've encountered a problem with the only restaurant dining being outside twice, now - smokers.
It's rather disturbing when you're at the table with your family, waiting for a lovely meal, and all four of the people at the table directly next to you (and upwind) light up their cigarettes. Fortunately there were some other tables (even further upwind!) which were still free, so we just stood up, gathered our drinks (the meal hadn't been delivered yet) and went to another table. Fortunately we were far enough away then that when the wind changed, we barely got a whiff of their smoke.

Aaah - cigarettes, my eternal Swiss nemesis. Exactly why I usually prefer to dine and drink indoors, plus you get more of the ambiance of the place...unless it is in a nice location with a beautiful garden or view.

Re: Sitting outside

Sitting outside only works for me in uncrowded areas, because in any popular spot people just can't stop acting dangerously/recklessly. The other day got a drop of spit on my glasses, because someone next table couldn't stop loudly talking while eating.

Yeah, can't escape bad smells and pollutants inside anymore.

Past weekend in Zermatt we were forced to walk out from an open terrace taking the main course to go instead, thanks to a slightly thicker incarnation of the same issue. A guy decided, that smoking some heavily fermented cigar in a public place is a good idea, and the restaurant allowed that (not that we have a lot of choice these days). It first smelled like someone put a clogged pooper scooper on fire... but soon enough it became apparent, that it is a cigar. Well, not just a cigar, as George Carlin would say.
