Well it’s the same for my brother who has a restaurant! Still close as it’s just not worth it to open. My heart goes to all of them and they family...

Can they do take away? A lot of restaurants are doing at atm.

All the local restaurants have been doing take away, with weekly menus on a local internet page. People have really gone with it- and it has been quite successful. 2 of them here do free delivery to anyone who is elderly or handicapped, etc.

I think the problem with takeaway is that many traditional type restaurants make more profit on the drinks than they do on the food.

And people aren't going to be ordering wine at restaurant prices to drink at home when they can be going to Denner.

The other day on the news it was said, that the rule actually is that if you just have drinks, you must wear the mask. Moving it for every sip.
How much fun is that?
And a lot of touching your mask (unless you drink through your mask like slammer drank his coffee the other day ). I see neither the appeal nor the safety in this.
So yes, Denner and my own garden patch sounds better.

There's a bar preferred by the young close to my place. They even installed a tent in the terrace for the rain. Don't worry, high ceiling (>4m) and no walls.

The point is the place is full since last week. Apparently, looking at other young and beautiful people is worth the hassle of wearing a mask and moving it for every sip. The young have the crazy idea of socializing instead of drinking alone at home. Have we forgotten these days?

I think the Corona generation will have a lot more nasty surprises in the morning than any generation ever had.

But yeah, with age chatting each other up in bars does get exactly how you describe it while with teens it's the natural thing to happen.

And drinking on your own patch of garden or balcony can be very social:

Yes, we get take away for the family at least once a week from the local restaurant. He also got a contract for the local meals on wheels. He says he probably will continue this way now as the money is still ok and it’s much more social for him as he is done by 15:00 every day.

How do the young people actually handle the problem of checking someone out that wears a mask? Would the dating market be better now for ugly people, when wearing masks?

The mask does not cover more than the beard, so ugly guys like me are not hiding anything more than the usual

In practice, the mask is off for every sip of the overpriced cocktails. So, masks doesn't matter.
