| | Switzerland not on the UK green list
How come Switzerland is still not on the UK green list, considering many other European countries are there? Does anyone know the criteria? | This user groans at NewinGeneva for this post:

(If you're fully vaccinated amber is the same as green).

Still need a PCR test for entering the UK even when on the Green list. Antigen tests are still free until October. Makes no difference at the moment!

It is so unlikely that the UK would relax their testing regime. So many new startup businesses now depend on their revenue stream from these tests.

The testing regimes will stay as long as they see a need for it and are not dependent on 'startup revenue' (lol).

Im in the UK right now and just went through the whole process. Best part was the PLC with the most nonsensical questions:
"What you need to do when you arrive in the UK depends on where you visit during the 10 days before you arrive.
Provide details of your visit to Switzerland during the 10 days before you arrive in the UK.
Have you visited, or will you visit, any islands in this country during the 10 days before you arrive in the UK?"
On the upside is the information what you need to do pretty clear: Get a test before the flight, book a day 2 test, fill out PLC. Lots of trouble, but transparent trouble... unlike certain EU countries which make up silly rules and then forget to publish them well...

Current level of new infections
Percentage of the population who have received 2 vaccinations
Presence of a variant of concern.
This has been widely reported in the media and at Downing Street press briefings.
In the case of Switzerland, the most likely factor holding it back from moving to the green list is the relatively low level of double vaccinated people, which is currently 49.75%. https://www.covid19.admin.ch/en/vaccination/persons | This user would like to thank Blueangel for this useful post:

They have included a bunch of countries with much lower vaccination rates:
Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia...
2. There are no variants of concern.
3. It seems it is more the current level of new infections, holding it back...

What’s the hold up getting vaccinated?
