You've taken this upon yourself. Despite the previous ban, the backdoor second chance and the warning, you've decided to beat a dead horse, refuse to participate in regular forum discussions and generally instigate. This is a shared space and not your living room. I don't understand this ban either. I also don't agree with some of Tom's views but why exactly was he banned?

My thoughts, in an ideal world, all should be able to speak their views and while doing so, not denigrate others in so far as they run contrary to their thoughts/views.

Basically, can we have a discussion? Can we try and listen to opposing views? Can we refrain from name calling and try to LISTEN to what they/others are trying to say?

I've had to try very hard to remain civil to someone who is so utterly convinced in their own infallibility.

I enjoy posts from the full Marton to TC spectrum (myself being somewhere in the middle) - but that's because both leave open the possibility they are wrong. Which is wise when dealing with Covid.

@ LIB - I have no idea what instigated this, but I have to say, that “yes”, many of us see EF as a shared living room. Why else would we spend time, nerves and energy providing advice free of charge to absolute strangers / wankers?

Although I didn't wish her banned she was constantly aggressive and rarely seemed to get out of fight mode. I was getting a bit tired of it. I got a weird PM from her after I went out of my way to be nice and tried to build a bridge and decided to keep well away after that.

Someone who, at present, sets out to see the worst in people and make enemies rather than observe and see the best in people. Her previous incarnation was miles better (predates me but I've read some historical stuff). I think we would have gotten in better were I here earlier.

Have no idea what transpired, but there was a time at EF - I dunno - about 7 years ago or a bit less or more, when the ‘atmosphere’ was completely different. Not to say it was any better or worse - it was extremely abusive but also informative.

But also fun. Almost all of these posters are just not interested any more in giving their decades of experience or advice away, to be simply abused (without the fun) on-line.

I personally profited incredibly from the information available on EF when making my life here.

But this site has really become a cesspit of non-information.
