#beanbandits

Unlikely this fad will drip over into CH – but might explain why some on here were recently complaining about having trouble buying their can of the unmentionable 57

Re: #beanbandits

The thing about baked beans - can't remember where I read it, but a few weeks ago I saw a report about the UK which claimed the baked bean thing was started by burglars. They pour canned food over someone's doorstep or drive and if it doesn't get cleaned up the chances are they've gone away and it's an opportunity to break into their house and rob them. I'm afraid nothing in the UK surprises me any more

I think you need a more reliable sauce.

What makes you doubt the reliability of my sauce? After all, I made an effort not to quote the usual sauce for useless information

Re: #beanbandits

When I was a child, I tried to eat baked beans through my nose.

In Heinz sight, it was a bad decision.

Had your parents been more aware of the 20/20 Heinz sight conundrum, you might have avoided digging beanz…..

According to a friend whose car was recently nicked and subsequently had advice from the police, filling and flicking on the kettle is the thing... so the bastards can fling boiling water at you should you hear them in your house and come down to investigate.

Plenty of surprises still to be had, Cherub. Some of them are even good!

Re: #beanbandits

For vegans, baked beans are a good alternate source of calcium (together with other beans). A half cup of canned baked beans provides more than 40 mg of calcium.

Never tried it, but also not adverse.
