Turkish airlines... how to get a response out of them???

We travelled Turkish Airways from Dubai to Zurich via Istanbul and our pushchair was untagged at the aircraft and therefore lost (this was back at Christmas). When it was eventually found and we collected it , it was broken. I have sent a registered letter of complaint to the Airlines' office at the Airport claiming the cost of buying a new one, as it was their responsibility to hand to us in the condition it was handed over to them. This was about 4 weeks ago. I haven't heard from them and moreover, when ever I call, they tell me they are busy this week and to call back next week when they will assign me a case number or write me letter to acknowledge the complaint.

Now they have simply stopped picking up the phone and I am lost as to whose door I should be knocking. My patience is running out and Im struggling with the broken pushchair! Help please!

Well since you're saying they are not picking the phone any more, why don't you knock their door urself ? I personally think solving things via face to face is much faster than emails/telephones!

Here u go their contacts in zurich

I agree with you. I too have a horrific experience while availing Turkish air during christmas time. I was flying to New Delhi via Istanbul. I had a 3 hours stop-over, and my connecting flight(turkish) to India got delayed..by 10 hours. They dont even cared to inform the passengers about this and possible cause for the delay at Istanbul airport. Moreover, they never bothered to offer any kind of refreshments or anything, not even a bottle of water. They are just awfull...even the service desk their is pathetic. I would strongly recommend anyone to stay out of Turkish Airways.

Sorry, for sharing my experience and diverting..but i guess I am quite frustated to share it with someone and would advice to stay away from this peice of crap..!!

You are welcome for sharing the experince , the service is truely horrible.. they don't look after the passengers, no matter what age. As soon as I get compensation for my broken pram, I will be keeping my distance. Its not worth the 200 swiss francs that you save travelling them.

I think perhaps the best response is not being able to board!!

Thats a bit below the belt, there is nothing to suggest its an unsafe airline.

Well, I think this crash suggests it is not the safest airline TODAY!

Re: Turkish airlines... how to get a response out of them???

After 3 months of chasing the Turkish Airways, I have finally had a verbal response, the guy at the other end of the phone has agreed to compensate me for 273 swiss francs instead of the 359 swiss francs I claimed.

They explain that if they forward the case to Turkey, there will be a 2 month delay and they claim i will get less than 50% of the claim and I would have to provide an invoice from a local shop (which I obviously do not have because I ordered it from Germany 2 years ago).

I have agreed to this verbally and am waiting for the written agreement to come my way this week. Will update when I have my money!

Quick and final update. For anyone looking to claim money from Turkish Airways, keep pestering them. I have finally recieved the money in my bank account - 5 months of endless phone calls have finally paid off (phew!)
