| | Music at Work
It s*cks.
I keep changing it from the whiney-boy-song station to Club J.L-P, but someone keeps changing it back.
I can't listen to an ipod, because I occasionally have to answer the phone (mostly mine ).
What should I do? Quitting is not an option.

Problem solved.

I think its still do-able to listen to the ipod albeit at a much lower volume or in just one ear so that you can hear the phone ring and answer it.
Alternatively, shout "oei" whenever someone changes the station. *Was kidding about the last one. |

As we speak I have been listening to my favourite radio station via audio streaming using the headset in open plan office. Not so loud though so that I can still hear the telephone ringing.

With your voice it will either result in a frantic changing of the channel, or summary destruction of the radio and a blanket ban on ever bringing one in to the office ever again. On pain of death.

Listen to your ipod but just have your headphones in one ear - this is what I do as I also have to answer the phone.

Get a headset through which you can both listen to your music and patch your calls when needed. If your phone uses VoIP it should be feasible without too much technical hassle.

Stay late one day with a set of screw drivers. It should be a simple enough operation to set your preferred station, then render the tuning knob inoperable.
Done and done.

Either superglue the tuning knob to your preferred frequency or (should you be feeling sneaky enough), remove the plug from the socket, paint the pins with a good coat of clear nail varnish, wait for it to dry and then replace. Having done this to my sister's stereo, I can tell you it takes the the hell of a long time to figure it out...

Guess you are lucky that you can have music on at all. I know many places that this is not possible.
We also have music in our office (which is now provided by my own system), even then I don't have control. Mainly have radio 24 on which is not so bad. Office is pretty empty at the moment so have changed to Sky.FM-Tops Hits, but may change to Absolute Rock in a minute.
We have a temp here and as the speakers were at the end of her desk she kept turining it down so I could not hear it. So had to move the speakers.
Oh what fun......

I listen to absolute radio (English) via the internet all day long.
Top tunes, news on the hour and regular sports updates.

I'm in my own little world!!! | | | | | I have a Sonos in the office which streams radio stations from the internet. I love Absolute Rock, but in the morning there is so much drivle (yapyitty yap yap yap). I just want to listed to music, but don't mind the news, however outside of this I don't want a lot of talking, guest callers blah blah blah.
