Re: Weather

If it makes you feel any better we are having crappy, cold and rainy weather here in Canada too. The worst part is I am on the far west coast, supposed to be semi tropical! We have had a horrible summer/winter for the last 2 years, I think it is all over. Then you get a beautiful hot sunny day and think.....YAY! SUMMER IS FINALLY HERE! Only to have it freezing and cold and rainy for the next month. Someone is playing games with us....lol

Re: Weather

So what do you all think of the weather today? Where I am it's 31 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It's a little too hot for me, in fact, but not disgusting.

I miss my ice maker though.

Re: Weather

OMG!!!¨When the weather decides to be HOT, it sure gets Super HOT! I`m from South Africa, but I think I been conditioned into the usual cold weather here?

We very fortunate in that we got a house with quite a big piece of land so last year invested in one of those mega sized huge plastic pools, thinking it would be a way of avoiding the overcrowded public pool ....... Think again! Now the grandkids want to only go to the public pool - cause thats where all the in-crowd of kids hang out! And I just cannot tolerate all that noise, teenagers slinging each other into the pools, and general mayhem that seems to go on. The last time I visited there I needed a good stiff double brandy when I got home! So, to me, this pool was one of the best investments ever!.. even if the little ones prefer the other....

I guess that your ankle must be getting better now. Don't get too active, too quickly and make it worse again

Last time I was there with 31 degree temps (mid 1970s), my aunt & uncle (my hosts) were falling all over themselves, apologizing for the heat as if it were their fault. Having come straight from Texas, I just didn't see the problem.

We didn't have ice at all — they were convinced it was unhealthy. Every time I even stuck a bottle of Süssmosst in the fridge to chill, my uncle would take it back out, warning me of the "dangers" of cold drinks.

Actually my aunt from Houston said last time she was here heat was harder in Switzerland because of higher humidity.

I'm sure... when you read holiday brochures about a bongo-bongo land safari.

Anyway, SWMBO and I reckon this our hottest day in 3 years here.

No this is when people handle ice with bare hands and not with a mandatory scoop and I'm sure this happens everywhere in this world. I'm not talking about life-threatening disease here.

Re: Weather

I'ts warming up nicely! I love hot, sultry weather - as long as I don't have to sit in the direct sunlight I can take "as hot as hell"!
I particularly like sweat dripping down my shins.

Yes, sure

At least I can sleep comfortably with windows open

An overcast day seems to trap in all the humidity and with the lack of breeze, it feels like a Sauna.........

Plus, anything above 28-30 is hot (for moi)
