| | Moderate in moderation [thread title edits] (dagnabit)
Am I the only one a bit hacked off with mods changing the thread titles??
I understand if its a For Sale/Wanted item and someone hasnt put in a location or prehaps and Event post without sufficient details in the title....but for the rest COME ON...
Part of the fun is finding a thread title that generates interest in the thread, like a good Newspaper headline but since returning to the forum after a long dark winter of intermittant internet access I am find the "budgeoned-to-death-with-the-obviousness-of-the-new-thread" feeling a little irksome. Grrr....

The purpose of the forum is to have information that is easy to locate and find, pointless mystery thread titles serve no purpose apart from wasting peoples time.
We, as you say, add for sale/wanted and location to thread titles, we also fix spelling mistakes and we also make titles clearer for people to understand

hi gypsyspears,
i understand your gripe. if this was a forum set in UK or US, there will be less moderation on thread titles, i think.
But it's an english forum in switzerland. Sometimes i forget that not everyone is a native speaker here (and we have alot of swiss members too)
i'd also like to make witty headlines (afterall i am known for my wit )
so as a result,i do try to make the thread titles more clear. however feel free to go mad with the content!

Can a moderator please edit this post and change | Quote: | | | | | <snip> "budgeoned-to-death-with-the-obviousness-of-the-new-thread" feeling a little irksome. Grrr.... | | | | | to bludgeoned
It's all wrong and it would really **** the OP off.
Ta.
