Swiss Tax Return due soon

In Bern the Swiss TAX Return for 2009 (State, Cantonal, and Village) has to be in the office by Monday 15th March 2010. You send it to your Gemeinde / Commune.

Otherwise you will be charged a Vorzugzzins of about 3.5% on your debts. This of course can be set against your tax for this year and declared in March 2011 (Funny old place this...!) You can however easily ask for a delay (Also possible in Bern online) until August 2010.

If you have a B permit, it's normal, they tax you at the source. Otherwise, yes, it's strange.

The deadline in Vaud was March 15 too.

B permit but the household income is above 120k, so we should do the tax return?

Re: Swiss Tax Return due soon

Normally when you have a B permit they calculate what you 'should' pay in taxes and take it off from your salary before giving it to you, so you don't have to fill in the form.

Note that this implies that you pay more than what you would if you were indeed doing a tax return. The joys of B permit...

Re: Swiss Tax Return due soon

I thought it was the case that you are taxed at source on a B, but if your income is above 120k, then you can request to fill in a return, no? Have you guys checked on your payslip if tax has been deducted?
