Irresponsible dog owner.

To the lady who was with her dog, at the grass commune by the lake in Küsnacht this morning:

You are most likely an Auslander, based on your accent, so I hope you are part of this forum, and read this. I am the owner of the terrier that your dog attacked earlier this morning. In the heat of things, I walked away or I would have unleashed a torrent of abuse at that moment in time. I am actually still fuming about that incident.

Your dog is aggressive, unsocialised, untrained and you have been extremely irresponsible by letting him off the leash when there was even a toddler around.

Your excuse that your dog was just trying to play with my dog is extremely pathetic. I can tell the difference between a dog running up to play with another dog versus a dog charging up to another dog to attack. There was also a reason that my dog didnt run up to greet yours, which he usually does with other dogs.

Growling, going for my dog's neck, causing him to yelp doesnt constitute playing. Your failed attempts at recalling your dog and your blasè attitude strolling to the scene showed me that you are an irresponsible owner, and dare I even say, not fit to own one. You even had the cheek to tell me off for pulling your dog apart from mine and disciplining your dog, when he repeatedly tried to get past me again, to go for my dog, whilst the poor fella is cowering in fear behind me.

I was too furious to retort and wish I said more now. But I had to check that my dog suffered no injuries and remove him from the scene. Thank goodness he is alright, or there will be serious pain and tears.

Seriously. You are an effing irresponsible cow who give all dog owners a bad name.

Hope your dog suffered no ill. A pox on all people who want a dog but aren't willing to train it properly.

I think his thick winter coat saved him. Poor fella was a little shaken then but was happily retrieving sticks 10 minutes after.

Got to love how they dont dwell on things.

Re: Irresponsible dog owner.

Sorry to hear about the incident, Summerrain, and you have every right to be seething. This irresponsible attitude is akin to the other one we have seen this morning regarding the poor Retriever who needs a new home.

And Economisto, that is funny but I bet your cat could see off a dastardly dog if push came to shove!

Re: Irresponsible dog owner.

My two terriers, Mr Jippy & Jango just read your post, ( I was outside and didn't realise they were on the laptop), and are at this moment tooling up for some payback.

I hope they don't expect me to drive them.

Re: Irresponsible dog owner.

I do occasionally meet dogs charging towards my toddler who is only recently trying to get used to cuddling dogs/cats. Judging by me reaction, usually though the owner immediately runs up to the dog and put it back to leash

Thanks for sharing that positive remark.

What really irks me is that it just takes 1 irresponsible owner to ruin it for the rest of us.

Re: Irresponsible dog owner.

These things do happen, sadly, but what would have driven me mad would have been the fact that the other owner did not apologise and even tried to turn things round and blame you.

Touchè Mrs Organ. Which is why I walked away as quickly as I could, or I would have been in the news tonight.

you are right; I am still under the positive influence of the kind dog owner we met yesterday evening in Kusnacht -probably in the same grass commune you had the problem this morning. She let one of her dogs sit next to our toddler and let the dog sit perfectly still so that we could cuddle the doggy without any discomfort.

Thats lovely!

Do you know which breed of dog it was? I know most of the mutts and their owners in this area and all of them, except the one today, are very well behaved. The dogs absolutely love the grass patch and the ones who go in the morning are firm friends and would chase each other around when they meet up.

I am not sure about the evening shift owners but if you can make it, mornings are great if you want your toddler to meet more dogs as well.

Re: Irresponsible dog owner.

I am not good with dogs; the lady had three dogs, small breed with long hanging ears and short legs; all blue-greyish with black spots.. two of them were quite young and full of energy. The lady was driving a Volvo estate and was definitely Swiss German.

Do they happen to look like this guy? If so, the owner's lovely and so are her 3 dogs. They go mad for chasing balls. Cant think of better dogs to introduce your child to.
