I just turned 23 and I feel old. Especially after looking at the Miss Neuchatel pictures and most of them were born in the 90s! One in 1993

Re: Warning! Off topic Rant in 3...2....1....

I think people feel old when they for whatever reason arent meeting their expectations of where they should be in life.

A friend of mine, upon turning 30, went into a deep depression. why? he didnt have much of a career or private life he was proud of. I am 36 and dont feel old at all, I have a great job, a gorgeous sexy wife who loves me, i live in the best country in the world, and feel good about things mostly. So turning 36 was no big deal for me.

And Ouchboy, what part of mexico are you from? My wife is 1/2 Oaxacan, we love visiting down there. The best thing about mexico tho: mexico has a world class cuisine, i dont u nderstand why mexican food isnt as ubiquitous all over the world the way, say, chinese and italian food are.

I did not mean you are old in the sense of "you are too old for this earth and slowing the pack". But too old to do the irresponsible things in life.
I think you have a really valid point there and it can be expressed in motorcycle terms:

30 is the age when the bike has to be given up due to wife, kids, responsibilities . Age has kicked in and there follows a period of drought but then, as you get even older, the responsibilities drop away (hopefully not the wife but the kids can clear off as soon as - only joking girls and boy ) and bikes become a reality once more.

I am pretty sure my family would agree that I am more irresponsible now than I was 20 years ago - after all I did hobble into the shop and buy a new Bonnie while still on crutches from my spectacular ZRX crash . They also agree that life insurance is probably a good thing .

Hmmm, I am doing it wrong. I bought my first motorcycle for my 30th birthday.

I don't know about the food not being international enough, I think it has something to do with things like chili ("chile"). you can't really do "mole poblano" without 7 different types of it, so is difficult to replicate elsewhere.

@ swissbob: thank you, I knew someone would understand.

I came back to the thread as I right now hit some teenager-like insecurities that I thought were way way past me....

Re: Warning! Off topic Rant in 3...2....1....

Almost 3 years now. Damn time flies... starting to feel like I'm losing my drive.
I went through the job section in Mexico ( just because one of my friends wanted some input on a few). Can't seem to do anything remotely related to what I did back then...

Like your sense of humour. I like reading it when I am drunk. I thought you were as well when posting most of those pictures you seem to collect on the net.

-Why people think that being 30 is still young. It is not, I'm sorry, deal with it. I'm 26 and see the newcomers and say: damn!
Honestly kiddo, if you're not young at 26, then what is the definition of youth ?

Great food for sure- but like Chinese and Italian, what you find in the 'rest of the world' is often not so similar to the real thing.

I remember my days in Tucson, working in the desert sun in the auto wrecking yards nestled in between the Air Force stockpiles and (plane) graveyards. From time to time a little white van would show up, all painted white with rollers and brushes- except the tires. A young husband and wife would serve up some of the best food I've ever had, all wrapped in tortillas. No, or little cheese to be seen. As I didn't speak a word of Spanish other than caliente one of my work buddies would order for me. He would never tell me what it was I was eating... when I pressed him one day he just said,"look white boy, if I told you you wouldn't eat it anymore!".

Ouchboy- I moved here when I was the same age as you. That was ten years ago . I don't know what happened to those ten years... seems like 2 years, or 20, depending on the day.

Oh- since you don't drink and are a Red Bull fan, check out the Denner generic stuff. They're grrrreat!

We're working on transforming Ouchboy from a non-drinking engineer to something less marriageable.
