I had a huge day planned with the kids, down the lake, in the sun having fun and now we're stuck indoors and there'll be enough of that come October. |

Even though it gets hot, I love that it's cool enough at night to sleep.

Anyone with Asthma who is feeling crap?
Gosh, I can't breath since days! Even in Antalya with weather up to 38 degrees it didn't feel like this here.

I cannot deal with this heat any more! I have a shower and dress up in the morning and by the time I get to work (15-20 mins walk), Im pouring sweat from every pore!!!
The temperature should be just about 10 degrees!!!
AND I cannot sleep peacefully at night either! | Quote: | | | | | Anyone with Asthma who is feeling crap? | | | | | I think I get mild asthma sometimes and have been feeling crap (breathless) past few nights. You mean its because of heat?!! I thought it was too much smoking!

The heat wouldn't be a problem if some businesses could at least have some fans. I go to a gym called "West Side Fitness" and they have only one puny little fan for the whole goddamned place. I don't even go near the cardio stuff right now for fear of dying of heat stroke.
I can understand if places don't want to pay for AC to be used only a few weeks out of the whole year, but a couple of floor fans?? Talk about not giving a shit about your customers... WTF?

Is it possible that the ozone levels in the air are making it difficult to breathe for people with asthma and related conditions?

I hate this heat. But it is not so in-your-face like Sofia was the past two years.
We had 38-40° over a couple of weeks, made every bit of outdoor presence a very unpleasant experience. Then it cooled down to like 34°
I loved Dublin for the weather, no extremes, no snow, no heat waves.

I take it back. I'm not *that* happy. My allergies are going nuts, my poor nose is on fire from tissue burns.
I took my empty box of US allergy meds to two different pharmacies and neither one could give me EXACTLY what I had. I wound up with the proper antihistamine but the sinus meds in what they have here sucks, leaves me with my sinuses backed up to my ears. When I explained this, they offered a nasal spray... which when it does work makes my nose run even harder AND "tastes" terrible going down the back of my throat.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it is cooler but my happiness is tempered by the misery that is my upper respiratory system. |

That means walking more slowly, not letting anything/anyone stress me, responding to emails when I can be bothered and generally being a lot more laid back. e.g. I usually leave myself 10 mins for the brisk walk to the station but today I gave myself 15 mins and therefore didn't arrive on the platform panting and dripping in sweat.

I got this allergy few years back and then I used this spray a few times and then it did not come back for good time. This year I had it off and on (mild) but not severe and all the time.
A friend had recommended it to me, who also used it once and never had the allergy back. | Quote: | | | | | Call me whacky, but I find that I can tolerate the heat a lot better if I stop acting like a stressed-out Northern European and more like a chilled-out Southerner. I do walk a bit fast as a matter of habit, but I can still sweat just standing still at higher temperatures. I have tried walking slowly but the end result is the same.
Haha... no work stress or whatsoever, except running late for work, everyday that is
I even get sweaty at night, while sleeping. Sometimes my shirt is like drenched! |

I hear it's raining in CH? I'm in Budapest at the moment, hiding from the heat in an internet cafe. I haven't felt heat like this since I left Australia, yesterday it was 42 at 6pm.
I just cover myself in sunscreen, kids 50+ and even that needs to be reaplied constantly, drinks lots of water and stay indoors til the air stops burning.
I don't know how I'd cope if I didn't have an air-conditioned apartment!

It will cool down a bit here too, only 28 degrees!
I'll be back next Wednesday, but I can handle Zürich "heat-waves". | Quote: | | | | | How about You coming back here. for a cooling off weekend you know. | | | | | |
