Re: Weather rant

Rainy and currently 16° here in Basel... feeling cooler with the breeze (I'm wearing long pants and a pullover with the terrace and some windows open).

Lovely!

Poor hubby though, went to work in shorts this morning and it's only gotten colder since he left! If he drank it, I'd put some coffee on for him.

Re: Weather rant

It's rainy and about 17°C in Zug at the moment and I must say I am finding it heavenly - but I am over 39 weeks pregnant and had been suffering so badly in the recent heat...

I hope the weather doesn't get too warm again for a while so I can give birth and look after my newborn in relative coolness!

All seasons are my favorite season, unless I don't have enough warm clothes. It's dropped at least 20 degrees in the last 24 hours. I wonder if the air-con does warm.....

Deb, you are just trying to get on Mother Nature's good side, admit it.

Re: Weather rant

Why moan about the weather here? you knew about it before you came down to Switzerland or not?

I only see good things, this country unlike Ireland and the Uk, has 4 seasons ( and i'm not talking about the hotel)

If you like sun? move to spain, if you like rain, go to Ireland or Uk.. its like giving out in Ireland " ow it rains allot here ".. guess what, it comes with the country.

This is the first year i had a summer people.. last years in Ireland we had 2 weeks in a full year, few days here and there, of sun and " hot " temperatures...reports on the radio went " oew summer is here, we are going to the low 20's " .. quickly, burst out the sunglasses..

With hot i mean 23 degrees or so, last month i was flat on the ground, as the floor was the coldest part of the house, being 28 degrees and more outside.

If you don't like the sun and snow, go and hibernate in Egypt or so..but then you won't like the kidnappings i guess

If you feel homesick for the Uk or Ireland, hop in your bathtub and stand under the shower a bit, but i for one, enjoy the weather here

Well it looks like its going to brighten up for the weekend, at least according to SF Meteo. However, things can change, as we all know.

Wish I could thank the above post. I get sick of hearing weather rants about a country that is known to have reasonably good but not fantastic summers.

Yesterday was a perfect day, bearable unlike early July. If I wanted weather like it was early in July all summer i'd move to the middle east

You can, just press the thank you button

And i agree with you, the summers here are good, and to me, it still is summer as we have some good days on the way... maybe not as hot as last months but what do you expect?

They all go , rain and snow = to cold / warm summer of plus 27 degrees = to warm..

Do these people have special wishes, or lived in some micro climate they can set to what they want ? Just take it as it comes, there is nothing we can do about it.
For those cold days someone came up with the glorious idea of a sweater and blanket, for the warm days, a simple opening of the windows or cool air fan is the solution..

Its never good, when its warm for us, the farmers give out its not raining enough, and vice versa.. what needs to be done to keep everyone happy ?

no, mostly people living in the german speaking part moan about the weather. We had rain all day yesterday and dense fog today in the morning. However, it seems to clear up a bit now (before more rain is due in the evening.....)
