| | Re: Weather rant | Quote: | | | | | no, mostly people living in the german speaking part moan about the weather. We had rain all day yesterday and dense fog today in the morning. However, it seems to clear up a bit now (before more rain is due in the evening.....) | | | | | In north Zurich we didn't have rain yesterday and it was lovely and warm and sunny
Doesn't look like dense fog at the moment in north Zurich. I assume for you if at 5am there is dense fog and a chill in the air that constitutes as a terrible day no matter if that fog and chill lifts and we are left with a nice pleasant warm mid 20's day?
You do baffle me Ticino i am surprised you haven't moved to warmer climes yet

I've spent only 5-6 days in Switzerland since early June and I'm leaving again tomorrow.... spent most of this summer in much sunnier climes which was really nice - 5 weeks of blue skies every day |

| | Doesn't anyone have a rant about this weather?!
I lived in quite a few countries and never experienced such a cold and rainy August. Its only my first year here, but was July the only nice month in the German part?

I'm literally so fed up with it that I've lost the energy to rant about it. I moaned all through May, then through June, some part of July was alright and now August is the pits again, I don't even wear an umbrella anymore! Super indifferent. Effing Switzerland.

Oh that bit of torrential rain... well, I still think "it's better here than it ever was in Ireland"... so my opinion on that is just "bring a brolly" |

I know man, but at least in Minnesota, we get distinguishable seasons. Our summers are nearly as warm as CA, right now my home slices are calling me telling me stories about 100 degrees and fun in the sun. We may have those bone chilling winters, but we have real summers. Been here 6 years and this year is just a nightmare, I swam like twice! Merrrrr. |

From middle of the week on, it will get warm and sunny again. No, I am not joking.
This is not Switzerland specific: As Europe has a comparatively small land mass, the weather is very wet and changes often and rapidly compared to most parts of the world.

Most of Europe has much better (sunnier, drier, warmer) weather on average.
