Oh he's lovely really. It's all the chewing on razor blades that's making him grumpy. (he can't go to the karaoke because of it)

(and his missus makes fantastic pasties)

We know that.

But we can't say it. We can say that it is fun to see him, that he is good company, his wife is very sweet and stunning and it is so worthed to know him....

We can't say those things, so we say that he is sooooo annoying!

Ah yes but if I say it he might bring me back more teabags and I might get more yummie pasties.

Nope, but I have a problem with slugs! Yesterday evening they were out in force. A whole swarm of them, grazing on my hostas, munching on my lettuces. I went to pick them off my veg plot, but they just kept coming. I tried to shoo them away, but they wouldn't back off. They just kept inching closer and closer with that expectant look in their eyes. Slugs to left of me, slugs to right of me..eventually they had me cornered - no way out.

Suddenly I felt something moist on my leg. I think it was their ringleader. I must admit I panicked. I reached down and plucked the little sucker up by his stumpy tail and threw him onto the compost heap. It was a foolhardy thing to do. The rest of the pack went wild and turned on me. It was all too much. I made a run for the house, bolted the door and closed the shutters.

I've been in here 24 hours now. They have me surrounded. Sometimes I think I can hear them laughing at me. OMG, I think that's them at the door. Please, if anybody's out there....

Sorry, Nev, I am taking your story with a pinch of salt...

Re: Weather rant

It might work (well, it does) but it is just horrible. If ever you have to dispatch an animal, at least do it as quickly and as humanely as possible. Beer traps are much kinder.

How do they work? Do they drown or just get pixxed and pass out?

Re: Weather rant

Don't know why but it reminds me of old good joke (just adapt your favourite game to your preferences e.g. Blue Bulls va Stormers) and encyclopedia vs box of condoms:

There's a bloke watching TV, and he hears a knock at the door. When he answers, there's no one to be seen! Just as he's about to close the door, he hears a small voice say "Excuse me sir, could I interest you in a set of encyclopaedias?" He looks down and sees a snail on his doorstep. Angered at being dragged away from the NSW v Qld State of Origin Match on the tube by a snail selling encyclopaedias, he kicks the poor snail off his front steps and into the garden, before returning inside. Six months later, there's a knock at the door. When he answers, there's no one there again. He looks down and sees the snail, who asks "What did you do that for?"

Just yesterday I picked up a snail stuck to the bonnet of my car as I was driving off the parking lot. Along the ubiquitous bird's poe, overall it's been a hectic week with scratching and scraping the kak out of the shiny surface

Re: Weather rant

This looks like a good place to put my whine.

IT'S TOO BLOODY HOT!!!!!! Waaaaaaa!!!!!!
And I'm not looking forward to the rest of this week!!!!
If I have a heat stroke at work, will it be covered by accident insurance?
