Where the heck are you living Nil? I am quite enjoying the weather here... would take it any day over the weather in Ottawa! Especially during the winter time!!!
Wow - where the heck are YOU living? In Zurich we've only had around 5-6 days without clouds and rain since May 1 (7 weeks) and the winters here are probably the worst I could imagine (I found Chicago pleasant in comparison).

3 months after it begins......so September 2011 is my best guess
I think this year it stop 2 weeks ago...

Or we could say it never began.... Just a few days here and there to tease us.

We decided to go in vacation where the sun is always there... Vitamin D is deficient here!

I have a headache and am grumpy as well but while nature is to blame, the weather isn't.

While the rest of this week looks cool and wet still here in Basel, there is hope for sunshine and warmer (but not too hot) weather all of next week.

It could be - many people suffer from headache in CH, usually it's worst in spring and fall when you get frequent southerly winds (Föhn).

That's it, I've had it. Feels like there is mould growing all over because of this weather. Booked an Easyjet flight to Alicante for this weekend before I start looking green as well.

Re: Weather rant

Just a good old fashioned rant about the weather.
Someone once said that everybody complains but nobody does anything about it.
Some bugger did! Made a rain-dance stick.
If I look out of my cubicle I can see a little brook, a little safety valve overflow from the Rhine, normally it is just a runnel, now you could surf on it, rain rain rain rain.
Watery wet watered down soggy wet water and cold to boot, the snow-line is just over 1000 Meters up and 5 clicks to the south, so under certain wind patterns it could start snowing, Slammer's iron pig is in it's PVC condom waiting for dry and I am getting a phantom pain between the legs, as you know Slammer's TGIF is having 300 Kg of bavarian metal under his bum.
Open air events are canceled, beer gardens shut and the lakes too cold to swim in.
My flat's heating is on a seasonal switch and I now have a damp and cold hovel to look forward to,
Jeeez the taps have just been opened further and the rain is stopping two inch over the ground. The TV weather man has just been nicked for rape (Kachelman Jörg) poor bugger he snapped at last and the forecast is to skip summer and go directly to Autumn.
If you do not hear from me for a while, I have drowned.
Glug, glug!

Some depressing graphs here. Not specifically this year, but just in general.

All 3 summers I have been here have been fairly wet. This is year takes it to the extreme. Still confused how people say Zurich has good summers.

Re: Weather rant

Last summer here was wonderful. A lot of sunny days finishing with some rain in the evening or at night! And the next morning was again sunny for the day!

It was a nice difference with very long, hot and humid and dry summer of Istanbul. With many cuts of water for days because of lack of rain.

Exactly this day 2 years ago was bright and sunny and in my memory that summer was quite nice (but then again, I just moved from rainy Iceland)

I recall that June last year was not that good, at least not while I had my guests over. July, August and September were brilliant however.
So not all hope out for this summer. Staaaaaay positive!

Re: Weather rant

Yeah as I said on FB it's people from UK and CH (and Iceland) who say the summers here are so brilliant. Anyone from the rest of the world would disagree.

Lucky we have the World Cup to distract us. Let's hope the sun arrives in July and stays till October.

It will. Rainy June usually means lovely weather in July, August and September with a pleasant Indian Summer
