I invite you to join me in the hell that is this song stuck in your head:

"Para...para...paradise. Para...para...paradise."

What a pity that there aren't mix-tapes anymore...
I invented the 'mix USB stick' a while back. Romantic(ish), practical, and 1,000 times more songs than a cassette...

Ehem, weren't you the one talking about creating meaningful threads and not silly threads about simple everyday stuff?
I hear you though I had it with Lady Gaga but for me the worst is the killers and that stupid song...are we humans or are we dancer...what are you morons?
it says, are we humans or are we DENSER, not dancer, which makes absolutely no sense.

Wrong.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_(The_Killers_song)

Quote:
There remains confusion and debate over the line "Are we human, or are we dancer?" in the song's chorus due to its grammar.[9] Debate raged across the Internet over whether the lyrics said "dancer" or "denser", a misunderstanding which invoked conflicting interpretations of the song's meaning.[10][11] On the band's official website, the biography section states that Flowers is singing "Are we human, or are we dancer?" and also says that the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson, where he stated America was raising "a generation of dancers".
But such things are out of my domain, so that's my one and only comment on the matter.

Re: Don't call my name, don't call my name Alejandro (or the modern music rant)

If there's any "artist" that drives me to the near point of doing myself in, it's Rihanna. I wish someone would take away her autotuner.

Want you to take it like a thief in the night Hold me like a pillow, make me feel right Baby I'll tell you all my secrets that I'm keepin', you can come inside And when you enter, you ain't leavin', be my prisoner for the night, oh

Want you to make me feel like I'm the only girl in the world Like I'm the only one that you'll ever love Like I'm the only one who knows your heart Only girl in the world... Like I'm the only one that's in command Cuz I'm the only one who understands, like I'm the only one who knows your heart, only one...

Come here, rude boy, boy; can you get it up? Come here rude boy, boy; is you big enough? Take it, take it baby, baby Take it, take it; love me, love me [x2]
Tonight I'ma let you be the captain Tonight I'ma let you do your thing, yeah Tonight I'ma let you be a rider Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up babe Tonight I'ma let it be fire
Tonight I'ma let you take me higher Tonight, baby, we could get it on, yeah, we could get it on, yeah

Phew CD... there's nothing like a mix-tape. And you didn't have to buy those. Just the radio station and two fingers on rec+ play.

..or you received them as a gift from someone.

You can do mix CDs, we do.

I've got all 700 of my CDs ripped to mp3 and flac, as well as another 2000 of family and friends, easy to make a mix CD from that pool!

Mix CDs are so 1999...

Nowadays it's a mix zip file on a private torrent, backed up to iCloud...

And if the recipient is really special, the metadata tags are all properly filled out...

...so, I seriously cannot take this insipid, annoying, redundant cacophony also known as modern music anymore. It's everywhere...you can hardly escape it..and it's loitering in the minds of the people. What happened to good music...to real music, which you simply could bump in the stereo and it made you feel good. I've included this youtube video of one of my favorite artists...I hope ya'll enjoy it.
I have a confession...

Yeah, but that Alejandro song is just stupid. It sounds like she was channelling ABBA, and only managed to channel a very bad ABBA cover band...

From a melodic standpoint, her music doesn't even sound that bad. The content however is fairly insipid. The main beef I have with modern music is, that it gets too much playtime...and by that, I mean that it gets chewed over and over and over again, until something new yet similar comes out to replace it.

Blame that on the American "Top 40" format. When you have an average runtime of 3 or 4 minutes per song, that gives you only 120-160 minutes of your "Meat and Potatoes" music. Double that playlist to around 80 songs, and you still only end up with 4-5 hours of music to try to fill up an entire day of programming. Throw in commercials and DJ gobbledygook and you still can't fill a week without repeating the music over and over and over and over...
