Where to look for ticket resales?

Hi,

I love going to concerts and shows (music, dance, etc) however I find it hard to go frequently given the budget required.
I sometimes use Ricardo or come across ticket resales randomly (social media etc), would anyone else have further suggestions?

Much appreciated!

Ella

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Someone was on here last week saying he just waits outside the entrance for the ticket touts to approach him.

Once the show starts, he always gets a ticket and never pays more than face value.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Sometimes tickets are given away as promotional items to other businesses, employees, etc., who can't make it for whatever reason. Last time we went to a concert in Zürich, OH and I were waiting to buy tickets by the entrance and 2 separate groups walking by each had an extra ticket - and we both got in for free.

This at Landiwiese Seebühne.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

I've recently bought "The Weeknd" tickets via Ticketcorner.ch and was also checking www.viagogo.com... they both seemed to have good deals and were trustworthy

I've used Ricardo, but you have to be careful and really check the sellers reviews so you won't be scammed.

P.s. You can also check migros tickets as they often have 20% off some concerts. We saw Andrea Bochelli this way... more you'll have to have a migros cumulus number

I've done this at least 20 times over the last 10 years, and never failed to get tickets, and have never paid more than the face value, most times, i've paid less.

U2 x2 Springsteen, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Muse and so on, all of the big acts.

I will likely do the same for Aerosmith, as somehow it's passed me by that their gig is tomorrow night!!

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

As big mac says. On the door is great. Big names and big venues in fact make it easier.

Basically if its in a 60k capacity stadium, tickets on sale 12 months before, how many have since got a cold, family crisis, change of situation, and have tickets to sell...Lots!

Decide a price you are willing to pay and stick to it. This method is harder when its a smaller venue and not sold out, in which case, the worst that happens is you pay face from an official vendor.

Im going low for the stones and going to try for 100 CHF

Something that I have had recent success with, is on the FB event page a lot of folks sell tickets I assume for the above reason. Again, just make a fair offer you are willing to pay, and they either accept or not, then you may even have a ticket in advance

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Dont forget there are also lots of shows and gigs for free if you look for them. Enge Bad has the sunday gigs, Backeranlage park monday gigs, mini festivals like wollishofen open air. The free gigs at montruex jazz festival. Some of the wine festivals will often have bands on.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Forgot to mention. You should always check the cumulus ticket shop from Migros, as they will often have gigs and shows for 20% off...ie they sold depeche mode tickets for 85 rather than 107 from ticketcorner

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Perhaps try viagogo.ch, standing tickets for Gorillaz/Zürich currently go for around 120.- each.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Paleo hosts a ticket 'market' on their website: http://yeah.paleo.ch/en/ticket-market. Ticket prices are face value.

The also sell a 1000 tickets (I think) each day of the event on their website.

Of course tickets are always available from scalpers out the front. There usually appears to be as many looking for tickets as selling them.

Won't be going this year. Crap lineup IMHO.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

Went to the Aerosmith gig last night without a ticket, were plenty of tickets on sale outside one hour before the opening act, I was patient (20 minutes, 5 approachs to or from scalpers/genuine people selling extra tickets) and I ended up getting a Golden Circle ticket for 120. Face value for that was 160, and the standard standing tickets were also 135. Never ever failed in getting a ticket.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

I use www.anibis.ch to buy and sell, but as someone mentioned, be careful, as there are scammers on there, I was recently contacted by someone wanting to pay by Paypal, without asking any further info about what I was selling, and they actually sent the same message in error from two different email addresses.
Try the Facebook event pages too, that has always worked well for me at Paleo and bigger festivals and any event big enough for them to have created an event page.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

I would never order from Viagogo again, the admin fee was almost as much as the ticket and the total amount to pay wasn't clear until after they had charged my card.

The best that I have found recently is to check out the official event on Facebook, there is a discussion board for each event and I have been able to pick up standing tickets for a substantial discount the night before the show and arrange to meet the sellers somewhere like HB to check the tickets before buying.

I've used ricardo.ch before and got the original Ticketcorner ticket in the post. It was a good experience.

Re: Where to look for ticket resales?

I think Ronorp would work well, too. At least they have a market place and an extra "Tickets" sections... And in Zürich its quite active there.
