Does anyone know where I can get a graphic panorama naming the mountains?
Cheers

As I recall, there is one at the terrace by the top of the polybahn. If all else fails, you could photograph that.

Yes you can see Eiger from Zurioberland. I can see it from my living room.
From Bachtel you can see Eiger Monch and Jungfrau quite well. You can also see Titlis and a whole lot more. There is a board by the restaurant on Bachtel Kulm with the names of the mountains on it.

I'm not going to argue with someone who's got a living room like that!! But from what I've seen you would need an awful lot of luck to see the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from the Bachtel. They might be marked on the panorama board but that doesn't mean you'll actually see them. I think they're marked on the Uetliberg boards too but good luck with that. See for example this picture: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/7092980.
And that's probably on an exceptionally clear, Föhn day. Still, all you get is a row of (very!) distant peaks. The trio should be roughly in line with the Rapperswil bridge, and should be the highest things around, but they're so far away they're just lost in the haze and the pile of lower, nearer peaks. Plus if you're expecting to recognise them from their 'front-on' view of them all in the line with the dark triangle of the Eiger north face (as you'd see from the Jura for example), then from Bachtel the angle's different so they'd be pretty difficult to recognise unless they were pointed out to you.
That's just my 2Rp though, I don't actually live there!

It's generally hazy later in the day but I quite regularly have smile to myself checking out the Eiger North face when opening the curtains in the mornings.
It's VERY difficult to photograph it. I've tried it a number of times and not been happy with the results but it is there to be seen. More visible on Föhn days, but on normal days too.
BTW, it's easy to recognise as the big triangular black one with a white one (Jungfrau) next to it on the furthest line of mountains you see. Monch is there too but you need binoculars to differentiate it from Jungfrau.

If you are in possession of a smart phone there are apps that can tell you the names if you point the device at them (with gps enabled).
The name of the application is "Layers".

I live about 6km from the Bachtel and at 525 meters, much lower. Here is a link to photos I posted on the 'Photos of Switzerland' thread. Post Your Photos From Switzerland!
We see the Berner Oberland in the morning about 1 day out of four through the year. Not the Eiger, but the Wetterhorn which is the other side of Grindelwald...

Today you can't see the incinerator at Hinwil, let alone the Alps !

(they are all a little triangular to me!)
Thanks
