Re: Christmas presents - love or hate

Someone thought I would like a leopards skin purse (UK meaning) with pink patent leather trim and gold clasp. I hate pink and despise anything that might be favoured by a street walker...

I got my wife one of them for christmas too some years back, I did not have sex for months after that, can't understand the reaction, she had been hinting for months that she wanted a vacuum cleaner..

Re: Christmas presents - love or hate

I got a Wii Fit. I asked for it especially. And then my husband bought me the Alice in Wonderland game, which is way over my head!

My husband bought me a Adana letterpress machine and a couple of packets of colour polaroid film. Definitely a great Christmas

From the same person, this year I got two different coffee mugs. Last year I got a coffee machine and the year before that I got a coffee mug.

Re: Christmas presents - love or hate

I got a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle, some Läderach chocolate, a hand-carved wooden die, some Sprüngli chocolate, a boxed set of four Monty Python DVDs, some Haigh's (Australian) chocolate, permission to help my son construct his Lego castle, and some generic chocolate tree decorations from Migros.
Pretty good, but not sure I got enough chocolate - there's still some left.

Re: Christmas presents - love or hate

Well I received a bottle each of Oban, Laphroaig and Lagavulin - hic

Also a years pass into Zurich Zoo, and a 50CHF iTunes card.

While I understand that Christmas is more about giving than receiving, it is, nevertheless, a fine result

Also a years pass into Zurich Zoo ...
Did you also get a pass that enables you to leave the zoo before the end of the year?

I would just save the wrapping paper and cardboard boxes, they seem far more interested in that until at least 4

And congratulations!

Re: Christmas presents - love or hate

One of my funniest Christmas presents was a shared belly laugh

Went to see my Dad in hospital today and his roommate, a sweet elderly gent, softly reached over and took my hand.
- How old do you think I am dear ?
- Oh perhaps 70 Sir ?
With a big grin and twinkle in his eye he proudly said:
- Noooooo I'm 88 but I look 72 when I'm undressed !!
and in hushed up voice he added:
.... and I left my wife at home !!
