Bring back the colour !!

I must be getting old (and/or hippyish)...

Where has all the colour gone? We are blessed with good eyesight and beautiful colours and we dress in boring blue/gray/black etc. The weather is gray enough so why can't we be more adventurous with our clothes?

If I turn up tomorrow in the office wearing colours people think I'm mad, but I might just do it anyway. Bring back colour !!

Although I entirely agree with your position (indeed, I usually wear colourful items), I am not quite sure what your post/thread is about in a kinda "speak for yourself kinda way".

You don't like the female clones who walk around in exactly the same clothes, long black hair, black boots, skin tight black jeans and a nice black top to top it off.

Maybe I just want people to prove me wrong and tell me about their 'colourful' lives and inspire me to break out from the crowd. I'm sure there are braver souls out there than me...

OK, here goes: I am wearing a blue skirt (OK, nothing exciting), a YELLOW shirt, and when I go out this afternoon I will put on my BRIGHT ORANGE and NAVY jacket with the SILVER REFLECTIVE stripes. My other half says it makes me look like a sexy railway worker but I am like, no, this is totally a 1970s SPACE PRINCESS look.

Oooh and my hair grip thingy is black... yeaaah, you got it, I'm mixing NAVY and BLACK today. How's that for edgy and fashion forward?

I am so sharp I should come with a warning label, me.

edit: just realized the OP is likely male. I am a bit slow today. Stick to black and grey please, OP, my 70s space princess look probably would not suit you at all.

The thing is, if everyone dressed in colour, you wouldn't stand out now, would you?

Let everyone else muddle along in their greys, blacks and whites, and you bring the colour...

I was suprised that wearing a red coat in Switzerland would illicit so many stares and confused looks from the general public.. tomorrow I might be tempted into my turquoise ear muffs to complete my 'crazy foreigner' appearance

You must be particularly gorgeous or you pay more attention to others as both DH & I wear red coats (not at the same time mind) in CH in the winter. Mine is wool 3/4 length "dressy" type & his is a sporty ski type jacket & I never noticed anyone stare. I do usually wear black clothes exclusively except for coats, jackets, shoes. I've been wearing black for so long I feel weird wearing other colors.

Absolutely! It's been so boring. Just a hint of dark forest green, midnight blue. The only colours being powder, beige, nude and white

I think the esprit shop had only one bright red long-sleeve top in their range this season

I was at Migros today when in the parking garage I spotted a guy who made me feel like home again. He was dressed in a red jacket, blue basketball shorts with flip flops on his feet. Yes, in this weather. I said to myself "bless his shorts, he must be from the States". And lo behold, he was. Totally made my day!

I may still go for it anyway, the fact that I'm wearing a skirt may stop people noticing the colours!
