why is it when you walk into a hospital your dignity so often goes out the other door?

I had to spend a little time "in-house" yesterday. I walked in as the dapper and dashing mr. Grynch you know and love and in moments of putting on my johnny ...well... the nurses they just lost all decorum... all over me... I had to plead for mercy from all their embraces*


*That would be version one and as this is my post it is the one I am going to stick with. However just for the record the other possible version is I walked in as the dapper and dashing mr. Grynch you know and love and in moments of putting on my johnny I turned into a "I don't give a sh*t me nuts is showing just get me a pillow" mr. Cranky.

Well, Mr. Grynch, you're talking to man who's been in and out of hospitals around the world..and I must say, that on 3 memorable occasions, there was a very attractive nurse...giving me the healing. So yeah, they do exist.

...but I do have to agree, that generally speaking (thankfully) they don't hire them for their looks.

First of all... thanks for putting a smile on my face....

Secondly, having been enough times at hospitals to visit loved ones and not so loved ones... I certainly know what you are talking about.

Unfortunately, what becomes an embarrassing piece of garment to wear for most patients, it is seen as simply a matter of practicality by the medical staff.

On the bright side (or maybe not), at least they don't have the patients waiting around naked before their examination or operations

truth is there was one cutie yest'd but..
1)... she looked young enuf to be my grandkid, and yes even I have some morals ( some )
2)... she asked me in french why I was there, what the treatment was and why I needed....Even if I was in the mood to discuss this with a 19yr old nurse my french is not at a level to explain fully the questions she asked and she had about 3 words of anglais.

Gotcha...some of these nurses can get quite cocky as well. From Bball, I've torn my left ligaments 5 times, my right ligaments twice and my back twice....after explaining this to the nurse the last time I went in..she was like "maybe you should think of changing sport".....needless to say, I tried to hobble after her on my one good foot and crutches but she was too fast.

Sorry Grynchy, from having worked in a hospital for some years, I can tell you that nurses and doctors are so used to seeing people without clothes that it is nothing extraordinary and they just want to get their job done and help you as soon as possible really!
It is that breaking that boundary that clothes and space make that makes you feel vulnerable...hugs!

I went to emergency unit last night... All I can assure you is that there are nice saucy nurses working on a night shift. All dressed up in apron but feminine features flashing thru with semi innocent smiles on their faces. I would never mind to take off my garment in presence of such helpful angels.

My exaltation was over though when they saw my wife following me. Moral of the story - everytime you are sick always go alone
