What, do you expect bread to be 100 CHF?
You obviously don't shop at Globus.

Thankfully Globus in Neuchatel has no food - aside from some pasta sauces and condiments. So no, I don't buy my food there

Re: Soon to CH - would CHF6K per month be enough ?

Hi

I've never been to Switzerland before and I stumbled across your forum, looks quite good.

I've been offered a job in the Zürich area for a well known Asset Management firm. They are offering me a salary of 482,000 chf a year, could you please advise me whether or not I should take their offer?

Would I be able to live on this wage, and what could I be expecting to save?

I don't drink or smoke but I do go to McDonalds a lot. My wage in UK is currently 14400 gbp a year and I live in Islington in a 4 bedroom town house. I manage to save approximatey 2.50 a year gbp.

Cheers

Stew

A zimmer is just like a hummer, but with a lot more 'zim' to it.

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and so far has found it quite informative...blah, blah, blah......

My question is whether or not I can live "comfortably" on a salary of 6000CHF (pre-tax) per month. I am hoping to move into the Schaffhausen area. Would it be possible to save as well.
How much would a one bedroom apt cost?? and I don't mean an apt with just the bedroom.
What is cost of living like in general in the area.
What is a "zimmer"....I've come across the term several times in the forum.

Thanks a lot.
6`000,- cheese a monthI would have turned that down in 1964,lucky me nobody offered it to me

Shall I advice like this: "No you wouldn't live with that little money"?
