I wrote a long email but I know if I write an email of complaint to management - he'll find out about it and he'll just make my life even harder in the gym

I go there in the night - when management is not there

I won't send the email now or officially complain - I'll just try and avoid him but if he pushes it more then I'll do something like complain
in your post you wrote you were in a better shape than him. Can't you just beat the sh!it out of him or spank him publicly in the middle of the gym on one of those machines?

I would recommend the lower back bench for that:

Re: Problems with senior trainer in the fitness centre I train in

Do they have machines in the gym that you can use to exercise your b***s or spine? I'd hit them really hard if I were you for the next few weeks and see if that gives an improvement.

C'mon fella, they only have one of the machine you were using and in the middle of your session someone says move? God knows I'm the mild mannered kind but sometimes replies just come out of your mouth before you know what you're saying and all you hear is the gentle echo of ...off!!!!

Assuming for a second you are serious (?) ignore it, go back in there and next time he talks to you tell him to get lost as you're working out. Conversation is for after the shower.

Hi,

It seems to me you have 2 options:

1) Move to a different gym

2) Get the situation with the bloke at your current gym sorted out with their management. To do that you really need to write to them formally - and politely - citing dates and times of when incidents occurred, what happened and who was around when they happened. Indicate that you do not find such behaviour to be acceptable, and you would (i) like an apology and (ii) an assurance from the gym and the senior instructor that there will be no repeat incidents.

If 2) does not produce a satisfactory result, then do 1) - and inform the management of the gym why you are cancelling your membership.

Whether or not this chap fancies your ex is by the by as you are a customer of the gym and expect to be treated in by staff in a correct and professional manner.

Cheers,
Nick
That's kind of advice I was looking for

Thanks - I agree with what you wrote

And to other people, trust me I would really like to get physical with this guy and pummel him but I'm not going to punch a bloke in a public place like a gym and just made to look like an idiot by then getting kicked out. For the punching part, I'll leave that to a moment I see him outside in the town then we'll settle his stupid issue the proper way - not in a bar or a gym or a building where you'll end up either just getting arrested or getting kicked out of a place.

He knows he has the power in that place as he a staff member and I'm just training there, outside it is a different story. I have to bide my time for that when it is the right moment.

Following on from that - if I want to assault this guy, what's the best way? ;p

I would really like to give him one BUT I won't do it in a public setting like a gym because I know what Swiss people are like, they go running to the police or something so quickly and I'll probabaly just go in for a night and get bad report with company etc etc

I need to punch him when no-one see's in this way, there is no "evidence" it was me or proof from people who saw.

I need a Jose Mourinho to give me some tactical advice here

Between him trying to assert his alpha-maleness in the gym and you wanting to do the same by punching him, it's like some David Attenborough wildlife documentary.

I thought we had evolved from all that...

Honestly, sounds like the guy is just trying to wind you up. Why don't you take the wind off his sails and just ignore him, with the nicest, chillest attitude? He is counting on your testosterone kicking in,unfortunately, and obviously, it is working. Just ignore that loser, I would. More he would try, better mood I'd be in. Just proves how important you are to him. Let him be all confused....Then snap some lame comment, at the end of the week and laugh. If he tries really hard, at least you would have something more substantial to talk about to the supervisors.

Yes but this is Switzerland - a bit different. People react here to all sorts of things so quickly, always better to check before you do something you may regret. If it was London I know exactly what I would do and who I would go to - when you don't speak any of the local languages, I'm going to tread a but more careful especially as I do not want to get kicked out of that gym as it's too near to my house.

Funny!

You guys are telling him to kick the guy's butt. But if he came here telling you that a trainer a the gym was annoying him and he already kicked his butt, you'll all be on him like sharks looking for blood telling him how wrong it is and how inacceptable behavior, etc...

That reminds me that old thread about a guy who kicked someone's butt in a street to protect his wife that was being attacked and people here were lynching him alive to dare to use violence...

Dude people can do what they want to me but if someone touched my g/f or wife or sister or mother in an agressive way I would destroy them - can't believe anyone would diss someone who didn't stand up for his loved one being attacked

Nah, they just miss the way people sort out stuff like this at home. I don't. There is already enough violence in this world.
