Whenever I see a car like that, I take a look at the driver and lo and behold, I usually see

- a middle-aged / older man
- more bald than not (and the rest is grey)
- has a gut that barely fits behind the steering wheel
- wearing a nice shirt
- and trying to be so cool behind his sunglasses

and suddenly the car loses its magic touch.
Have you been spying on me?

But they think they are cool, goodlooking.slim and God's gift...

They look at the young chick pulling up next to them in the cool car and think.... I bet she fancies me.

Those are the ones who can afford them.... If you see a young guy, you can roughly guess that it is his dad's car.

Ask your husband / boyfriend / date to drive a route through town that avoids passing buildings with mirrored glass.

And often, she does, because the person in the car is likely an achiever, which many women will find attractive.

This has the side effect of enraging other females even more hence disparaging remarks about the driver.

Mine (or rather, one of), naked:

My girlfriend isn't happy that it's a single seater, until I point out the obvious.

Meanwhile, I have several 2-4 seaters.

Re: A funny thing happened to me today..

Most women do not go blind or stupid just because they see a sport's car!

I was lucky when I was young to have a BF who taught me to drive and hill race in his TR4, then used to lend me his TR6 to go to school in Neuch - He was VERY good looking too.

I had a MX-5 12 years ago, when I was still in my mid twenties. Everywhere I went with the car, there was smiling girls. Loved it I really need a flat with 2 parking spots so I can have one again

Perhaps, but motorcycles are another matter.

First time I met my girlfriend was to fix her moped.

Second time was to take an afternoon trip in my sidecar up to Sighignola (a couple days later).

Third time (next day) was to head down to a friend's place in Calice Ligure to camp in his back yard with a bunch of motorcyclists, partying all day and night.

Four and 1/2 years later, we're still together, and my Italian has become quite decent.

Your stranger was obviously lining the car up for a car theft to order.

I expect by next week it will be in Poland, being dismantled. Still you did take a photo of the Indian man didn't you. Oh dear, you used his camera.

Old men have the best cars.

There is no greater Sports car than the Mazda MX5 Mk1.

Handling, price , reliability, fun, 2 seats, lightweight, free-revving, rear wheel drive.

Nothing more is asked of a Sports car, and the Mazda excels in every area.

I have had 3 and am missing every one of them.

Yes there are faster cars. But how much do you have to pay extra for a rear wheel drive 2 seater with so much to offer as the MX-5...

Full credit to Lotus though.
