Handling, price , reliability, fun, 2 seats, lightweight, free-revving, rear wheel drive.
Nothing more is asked of a Sports car, and the Mazda excels in every area.
I have had 3 and am missing every one of them.
Yes there are faster cars. But how much do you have to pay extra for a rear wheel drive 2 seater with so much to offer as the MX-5...
Full credit to Lotus though. | | | | | Yes, love them too. I used to have a black one with the pop up headlights - soooo sexy!

Whenever I see a Cayman, I typically see a middle aged housewife in it who actually wanted a practical car instead. But the husband insisted that she needed a nice sports car, so he can borrow it whenever he weather is good...

- a middle-aged / older man
- more bald than not (and the rest is grey)
- has a gut that barely fits behind the steering wheel
- wearing a nice shirt
- and trying to be so cool behind his sunglasses
There are quite a few middle-aged/older men around who own expensive cars, you know... |

Just an observation. But exceptions are there to prove the rule to be truth. I rarely met a young 20ish guy who made himself his own fortune that young.... But you can see more often a guy in his 30ies - 40ies - 50ies having a nice car maybe because he is rich, or have no morgage or family or expensive girlfriend or wife..... Maybe he has just him to take care of and spend everything he got in the car.
But I won't assume that every young guy who has a nice car is rich or doesn't have daddy's car...
It is like assuming that a Turkish cleaning lady who owns a LV bag just try to do so to be ''somebody''. |

I had much nicer / expensive cars when I was in my 20's, no wife or children to support then.

You could compare car for men and jewellery for women. A woman with a nice expensive piece of art at her finger or wrist will get also jealousy comments....
