| | Re: A funny thing happened to me today.. | Quote: | | | | | I rarely met a young 20ish guy who made himself his own fortune that young. | | | | | I did meet some. But to be honest: A Cayman S is around 100k CHF. That is not exactly cheap, but not supercar-expensive either. As most people who buy a new car take a lease, you can if you really want afford one on the 120.000 CHF salary... just as the Turkish cleaning lady can afford a 700 CHF LV bag if she earns the minimum salary of 3400 a month if she really wants...
But truth to be told: Most young men I met driving sports cars in their 20s - and I exclude run down 5th hand M3s from my definition of "sports car" here - did so because they inherited some cash or are simply from a wealthy family. I do not know why one needs to be ashamed of that either...

A woman with a nice expensive piece of art at her finger or wrist will get also jealousy comments.... | | | | | Very true, although I find one a bit more practical than the other. But I think that versus topic has been beating to death in a few other threads.

| | Re: A funny thing happened to me today.. | Quote: | | | | | Actually in English, only the word "Ship" has a gender (female). Everything else should be "it". Nevetheless we do tend to say "her" and "she" for machinery or a car, usually when the object is very beautiful
Yup, Kevleg's sweetie is a pretty one. But I love my ol'cinquecento | | | | | Just a small correction, there definitely is grammatical gender to quite a few English nouns, not just ships or cars, also Moon (fem), Sun (masc), Earth (fem), usually not in a planet sense, but personified (lit). Other rule is the gender revealing suffix -ess, actress, waitress, etc.
More here . Ok, pedant hat off.
That car is nice. People posting car pics should realize it is identifying them, to some extent.

If I had your car the mrs would always be driving it, I'd never get a look in | | | | | funnily enough, whenever Bev drives the car she gets the kind of attention that it is alleged the male owners of such cars want, but in her case it is completely unwanted. She's also not supposed to drive it to work, in case the clients get upset that she has a nicer car than them WTF! | Quote: | | | | | You could compare car for men and jewellery for women. I went to my prom in a similar Porsche, felt very good indeed.... I don't remember much of the prom itself... very boring, but I still remember very well the Porsche!
My dad used to have a Corvette. Something very similar to this picture with two side exausts. | | | | | I had a 'Hot-wheels' toy model of one of those, pretty cool, envy of the school yard.

Likewise making a hybrid Cayenne helps keep emissions across the firm down, allowing them to make more interesting cars.
At the end of the day they are a company that has a duty to its shareholders to maximise profits. They have found some very profitable new markets over the last 15 years, which more than make up for a few lost sales from "enthusiasts" who disagree with the brand direction.
