Re: 100th anniversary of International Women's Day today

My wife is celebrating by unpacking all the stuff for the kitchen.

She's going to be spending a lot of time in there over the next few years, so she'll want it nice, won't she?

There's only one thing worse than a male chauvanist, and that's a woman who doesn't know her place.

You better wash your mouth out, otherwise you'll be grounded. And banned from EF. All in one go! (and another for that extra emphasis !

This was an interesting read: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...ce?INTCMP=SRCH

If you can ignore the slightly self-promotional aspects of the article (from Mariella Frostrup) there's some good figures in there that do make you think.

Re: 100th anniversary of International Women's Day today

Well, easy to be sarchastic - but it is only a couple of generations ago that women in Europe were still considered as cheptel, and in many parts of the world it is still the case. Here is a lovely message sent to me today by a friend from my teenage years. Sorry in French only:

Femme d’aujourd’hui
Femme de demain
Femme du monde entier
Tu n’as pas changé
