Best place for clothes shopping?

Anyone recommend a good city/area/place for shopping for clothes? With a lot of choice?

Please note, there is a charge for excessive use of type characters, and including too many relevant and pertinent facts, when requesting helpful information from EF'ers.

Please do not fill in the gaps, and let everyone spend time and effort (or not) typing unneeded details.

It's not even clear, what sex you are.

Anyplace outside of CH. Easyjet to London is doable.

It is ok - like any of these outlet ctrs it has good and bad days. I would not travel from Zurich to go but if you live in Ticino then I would pop in twice a year when passing. I always picked something up - but nothing that I needed (handbags etc..)

Re: Best place for clothes shopping?

Foxtown is a hole. Prices aren't bad - but I've never been impressed with the stock.

There is now an outlet place at Landquart - by the station.

From the top of Bahnhofstrasse towards langstrasse are some independent clothes shops - and there are other tucked all round Zurich.

Depends if you want known brands or not.

With the strength of the franc and if you need a lot of stuff - just do a weekend in London - you'll end up ahead - and get (IMHO) better stuff!

Re: Best place for clothes shopping?

Constance is good for shopping. You can also claim back the VAT, just ask for a green form in the shops.

Agree - never found much at Foxtown, but a cheap flight to London, and bags are full of great goodies

I live 5 minutes from Fox Town and I seldom go there...for luxury goods (Tod's, Gucci, Prada, etc) the best outlets are in Tuscany

for casual apparel better elsewhere abroad (UK, Usa), much cheaper, broad selection of items and less expensive.

Re: Best place for clothes shopping?

Top brands - what? chanel dior prada? mid priced? in Switzergoldmineland?

if you are lucky, you might find some guess - priced (discounted) at the same as in the US (full price).

Foxtown - nah. There is one also in Villeneuve, and it is a desert. Nothing to buy even if you really want to give away the stuff to the poor.
The AUbonne outlets - same as above. they have a discount store of Geox... now, they make decent boots, but one is better off to get the sales.

Re: Best place for clothes shopping?

I usually go here when i need to go to outlets. It takes a little over 2 hours to get there and has all the major brands.
